Rough language in this clip kiddies, be advised.
Obnoxious.

Some people would say that this extreme level of obnoxious is good. I think that I might throw a beer cup at em....I think that thats what theyre trying for...to have their obnoxiuosness reaffirmed by projectiles.

The 4 bars of guitar solo @ 2:53 in is a straight note-for-note ripoff of a very well-known solo from the late 1970s. Beers are on me for anybody (other than LABF) who can identify that stolen solo.

DAMN!!! For a guy who notoriously dislikes music that's popular (), that is an excellent ear! LABF will corroborate "Do You Feel" is the correct answer .... (wait ... did LABF feed you the correct answer?)

I came in here now ready to give a great clue: "The artist this riff was stolen from has been a guest star on both The Simpsons and Family Guy."

Anyway Hogan, I was already gonna buy you a cigar on OM Weekend last year but missed it, now I guess it's cigars and beer on me in '09.

No, nobody fed me the answer at all. It was fairly easy and besides, you offered free beer for the correct answer, so....

and what's this noise?

Well... like serious critics of every art form, you have a rep for liking art that most folks haven't been exposed to yet. Think of it as being "ahead of the curve."

I'm serious, that is a VERY impressive and very fast correct answer ... LABF will corroborate that was the answer.

Much props, sir :

Well, thank you. I thought you'd know by now however that just because the range has expanded, that in no way means that I'm beyond anything pounded into the ground by classic rock radio stations on a daily basis. The search always continues for new sounds but the old standbys are never forgotton.

It's really not all that impressive though Buff, I mean, who hasn't been bombared by Frampton Comes Alive? Surely not anyone who was alive in the late 70's, regardless of age. Like Fleetwood Mac's Rumors, the in depth knowledge of the work is unavoidable, whether you liked it or not, because it was that unescapably, unavoidably huge.

Tesla actually included that Frampton cover in their two cover discs they released in 2007. "Real to Reel" 1 and 2. I really love Tesla, they got lumped into that Hair Band nonsense, but they were just simply a great straight ahead rock band. Anyway here is the Frampton Cover as well as some others.

They also did alot of covers that were pretty cool from a bunch of different classic artists.

Oh .... so maybe he lifted that solo part as an homage?

Cool. I can stop hating them now.

Yep - the lick appears in DYFLWD, alright.

However, in all fairness, Frampton didn't invent the lick - it's a pretty stock blues/rock lick.

Ahh The Jam, Weller was never better. Here's my fave Jam track, absolutely love the rough soul influence on it.

In that picture Weller looks very much like Eric Clapton did in his early Yardbirds days.

I'm not normally a big fan of classical music, but as a jazz/fusion guy I appreciate Stravinski's use of atonality, chromatic harmony, etc.
