Which do you think are the best Beatles song (subjective criteria of course) and your favorite Beatles song? I know that for many, these questions are just about impossible to answer, but give it a shot anyhow.
Astonishingly, The Beatles seem to transcend every generation. Just about everyone "discovers" The Beatles at one point in their life. I was in 8th gradewhen I discovered The Beatles and heard Helter Skelter for the first time at a friends house. I couldnt believe that it was a Beatles song and that it was written in the mid 60's. It sounded edgier than much of the rock music that I was into. I think that the best Beatles song (if I had to pick one) is "A Day In the Life" My favorite Beatles song (if I had to pick one): "Everybody's Got Something to Hide Except for Me and My Monkey" |

"Let it Be" is a philosophy by which I live. The melody is simple, but memorable, and the message is important for people. When something truly does not matter in the grand scheme of things, let it be. Don't dwell over what you can't control.
I know that's really a Paul McCartney song, so my favorite BEATLES song would be "I Saw Her Standing There". It's just a fun song... |

Wow so many I will pick one no one has yet.
Dr Robert- Revolver It has sort of a corny bridge but of course Beatles could always pull that off couldn't they. I love the harmonies on the top end of the verses. |

Carry That Weight ('The Weight' is a great song by The Band), and I agree ... the medley on Side 2 of Abbey Road:
You Never Give Me Your Money, into Mean Mister Mustard, into Polythene Pam, She Came in Through the Bathroom Window, Golden Slumbers, Carry That Weight and finally The End. Mostly John Lennon songs. Paul McCartney's autobiography "Many Years From Now" is a great read, he goes song by song from Day 1 until the breakup, and details everything: http://www.amazon.com/Paul-McCartney.../dp/0805052496 |

There's a great "Behind The Music" about them ... scratch that, I'm thinking of "Classic Albums - The Band's 'The Band.'" http://blogcritics.org/archives/2004/06/14/011438.php That BBC British TV series "Classic Albums" which airs on VH1 ... it's a great GREAT series ... Nirvana's "Nevermind" was an incredible episode, as was "Who's Next." Probably the best music documentary program ever. See the episode "The Band," it's an unforgettable hour. |

"In My Life," not even close.
Also, The Kinks were better than the Beattles and Rolling Stones combined. There, I said it. Last edited by bowtown; 02-11-2009 at 02:50 PM.. |

My Favorite is "Help". Simple, but catchy.
Best? Not sure. But probably "Eleanor Rigby". |
