I was alllll ready to bash you just based on the thread title alone, because i really enjoy Oregon and everything they're about.. however.. this is RIDICULOUS. Good for you for not taking any ****.. I myself would have done anything to escape paying the ticket, and in every case i do, but what you said to him, i've had the exact same conversation in my head about 10 different times. I've just always fancied it as something i'll pull out when i get older.

The only thing lacking is you telling him to meet you at, "THE THUNDERDOME b****!!!"

We disagree.

P.S. And no, I'm not talking about Miller. That'd be about as silly as an Australian backing up Fosters.

My favorites vary, but since I moved up here, I always come back to Widmer Bros. Hefeweisen

Best served with a slice of orange, actually.

Well, there are some decent microbrews here, but Oregon really does have probably my favorite beers. Went back there this summer. It was excellent.

I've never been a fan of New Belgium, but Odell Brewing is putting out some good stuff. I like 90 Schilling.

Yeah, I've had a lot of Hefe in my time here. One of my favorites, though, is the Widmer Broken Halo IPA. It doesn't get much better than that, IMO. Although pretty much anything from Deschutes is on top of my list, too.

Yes, Deschutes, yes. I like New Belgium and having had to sit thru the San Diego debacle at the airport, at least I had New Belgium to drink before getting on the plane at DIA. But I kind of just like going to the different breweries in CO and trying the local stuff. Some of the best beer I had though was in Cincinnati at a German Restaurant that brewed it's own beer.

Yeah, little microbreweries are popping up everywhere now. Oregon is nice because you can get good beer everywhere you go, not just the brew pubs. These microbrews like Widmer, Deschutes and Full Sail have been around so long you can find them in just about every bar here.

I just found this cool little map, too...

I honestly haven't had much from Oregon, willing to try. Problem with microbrews is that the best ones don't leave the region and some don't even leave the state.

New Glarus Brewing Co. is a great example. Many of you are probably thinking, who? But I know someone here has had their "Spotted Cow" before. Great beer but it doesn't distribute outside of Wisconsin. Many here probably prefer that but when i was in So Cal it really irritated me.

So what's a good Oregon micro? I don't do the real dark stuff most of the time, FYI.

They meet? I always take C-470 to I-70. Well that's what happens when you live in the Springs. So I guess, 12 hours later, no I don't know, but it gives me a general idea of your location. Did you get much snow up there BTW?

Surprised that nobody from Oregon mentioned Rogue Brewery. They have many great beers including Hazelnut Brown, Dead Guy Ale, Kells Irish Lager, Younger's Special Bitter and many, many more. Making me dang thirsty just typing this

Oh I spent some time there, living in a Vet facility (long story as I am not a vet). you should go to Ashland, I think it wasn't very far away and it has some good bars and a nice river walk if I recall correctly (of course that was 10 years ago).

You are just a tease Spider. But I am drunk so I don't care.

I believe Arrogant Bastard (which is a great brew as well) is actually made by Stone Brewery which is somewhere in California. Rogue Brewery is in Newport. The brewery is right on the water's edge of Yaquina Bay under the bridge. Great little place.
