HA if you find the lack of a USB cable to be frustrating wait until you find out about how HP manages ink cartridges to force you to buy more. They have expiration dates that nearly lock down your printer once the cartridge gets too "old" regardless of how much ink is in it.

Like the others have said just get the cable and plug it in Vista will do the rest.

Or you know Spider, I have a sister in law I don't like much. She would definitely let you hit it (she pretty much lets everyone hit it, but you have to be careful, she is one fertile myrtle - 4 kids, 3 different dads in 6yrs).

As for the rest, once you get the cable (Best buy, walmart, circuit city, Radio shack should all have it) with Vista it should plug and play. I have Vista and I had an easier time with my printer on Vista then XP (and yes I had to buy the cable separately on my HP too)

Also with additional directions:
I agree with the previous post, sheep are for clothing and food only.
Also, if the printer should give you problems, I suggest using finesse such as punching it in the throat (though I have no idea where the throat is on a printer).

yep, they got sued for it a while back because it would lock down the printer until you put in a new one. Now you have to "select" your way through some menus including one that says you are doing this knowingly and may be voiding the warranty meaning too bad for you if the printer breaks.

I punched my printer in the throat with a hammer. I really wasn't concerned with where the throat was because I hit it pretty much everywhere.

She sounds nice and stable Spider. I'd go for it, really.

He's right, Spidey. None of them do anymore. The good news is, they're MUCH cheaper than they used to be when they came with cables.

I must have 10 of those things laying around my studio. I'd gladly give you one if you were local.

I love my Canon MP500 3-in-one printer. It has separate ink tanks for each color, so you only buy the ink you need.

Good luck with the HP printer, Spider... as others have said, Staples, Best Buy, Office Depot, WalMart, Target.... any of those places should have a USB cable.
