This year we've been surprised during the starters introductions by seeing Woodyard at SS, a 3-4 set, Larsen starting both ways, P.J. Pope starting, Josh Barrett starting and Josh Bell starting. It seems every week we do something crazy that no one expected.
So what is it today? Darrell Hackney lined up at FB? Jay at FS? A 5-2? |

Members on this site will call for Shanahan's head after his best coaching year ever. Oh wait that already happened, losers.

I'm not going to pile onto Shanny, but I wouldn't call this his best coaching year ever. Yes, he got hit with injuries, but so did Belichick (worse than ours, even) and he has them at 10 wins. Shanny mustered some inventive stuff with the offensive players he had left, but this is still a coach that allowed his DC to bungle away the season; that allowed his team to come out flat for 4 different games they had to win; that allowed other coaches to make in-game adjustments without countering with any of his own; and that allowed another year of .500 ball, the third year in a row. That's not "best" coaching. That's "average" coaching.

God forbid we would throw a few RB screens instead of WR screens?
My surprise of the day - three TE sets with Graham, Scheff, and Putz. Putz gets a TD out of the deal. I'm crossing my fingers that Crack is the real deal and has a Quentin Griffin type of "flash in the pan." 3 TD's by Boyd would be my dream scenario. |

Defense sucks, thats why 13 picks have been amassed. The Offense was remade and only because Shanny felt he had his All Pro QB and drafted him. Or else the D would be fixed now and the offense would suck ass. Its a process that requires patience.

i see us opening the game running. in the 1st 10 plays we will run 7 times.
i see Royal being the main receiver today. defensively, i think Rivers is cocky and stupid enough to try and go at Champ, and that won't end well. |
