I bought my second six pack of Denver Pale Ale from the Great Divide. The first was excellent. This second one is way too carbonated. I started to pour one beer and after a quarter of the beer was poured my entire glass was full of head. It took 15 minutes to pour that beer.

Schlitz is back on shelves in bottles of its original formula in the city where it was first brewed in 1849.

It was the top-selling beer for much of the first half of the 20th century. But recipe changes and a series of snafus made Schlitz -- in many a drinkers' opinion -- undrinkable, turning the beer into a joke.

But now its owner, Pabst Brewing, is recreating the old formula, using notes and interviews with old brew masters to concoct the pilsner again, known as "The Beer That Made Milwaukee Famous."

I actually really want to try that Schlitz. It might be pretty good if they really make it like they did prior to the prohibition and the depression.

I've been hooked on Moosehead lager for the past couple of months...really good flavor and not too expensive.

When I was in Australia in 2000/01, i drank Old Tooheys as much as possible. I dont think the locals like it as much as I did, but every bar had a awning of either Victoria Bitter, Melbourne, Tooheys and a few Fosters. No distributor for Old Tooheys so come out to the states for a game and bring me some for beer swapping.

How bout doing this at all tailgates beer loving Omaners are going to? The Great Omane Beer Exchange!

I don't know if they are distributing the Palisade Brewery beers to the front range yet, but the brewery has some decent brews (the rish ale, the orchard amber, and the red truck)... I'm planning on bringing some six packs as well as some growlers from other local breweries in Grand Junction... at least for the games I make it to.

ksBRONCO, did you ever try the dunkel from Shiner? It was good, but I don't think they're making it anymore. They had a decent Kolsch too, but I'm sure not comparable to Germany.

They still make it, but it turned into a seasonal beer for some reason.

I haven't seen that. It sucks I live in a small town so I don't get to see new beers very often. My and some of my friends have gotton one of the stores in town to start bringing in new stuff. The only Shiner I have had was the ShinerBock. It was okay, tasted more like a soda than a beer.

Kolsch is originally from Cologne. It is served in tall skinny glasses (.2L) you empty them fast, but they come around often to refill. I've been very fortunite I've been to Germany 5 times in the past two years, 3 this year alone. I already have my next trip scheduled in September. Lots of good beer and schnitzel!

My last trip I had some Konnig Ludwig dunkel that was really good. I have the store trying to bring some in.

Odells is one of my absolute favorite breweries on a consistent basis. The IPA is true and delicious. I have 3 Shiner Black Lagers left in my fridge. Its tasty, but filling.

Ok two new reviews today

Victory's Golden Monkey - a triple ale that contains to much alcohol to be a beer, it a little to sweet, but worth the 9.00 bucks if you are looking to get ****** up in short amount of time. nice color, very sweet and sickly smooth

Steelheads double stout - excellent color - dark as my heart- with a hint of coffee. Nice aroma and no after taste. worth a spin on Wednesday night.

True, Odells has got to be one of the most consistent breweries. That is one of the weeknesses I see from New Belgium, IMO.

The IPA was great, a little more costly due to the price of hops, but you don't drink IPA's like a Bud Light!!!

I was't too impressed with the Shiner Black Lager...The overall flavor was okay, but Shiner is real good at making a carbonated beer taste flat. Not sure how they do it...

On a sad and serious note, the Flying Dog Brewery (which I have recommended a few times) has moved out of downtown Denver and to Maryland. I was looking to make a trip over there before the Broncos Green Bay game and I am now extremely disheartened.

If anyone gets a chance to try them, they have very good beers, but I reccomend you start with the Old Scratch or their classic Pale or their tire bite before venturing too far off on their Barley Wines or even their porter. I also veto their Hefeweizen, but thats cause I'm not a huge hefe fan when its got that strong banana and clove taste to it.

Not always the biggest Amber Ale fan, but the old scratch is pretty delicious. I kinda have a problem with their ugly labels though.

Troegs ' Dead Reckoning Porter- Nice dark color, but like a Troeg product it has a little after taste that doesn't make it as smooth as should be.
