Default Anniversary meal

Hey guys and girls I need some help.

My one year anniversary is coming up and I am going to give my wife a day at the spa and then I was wanting to get a candlelight dinner ready for the house, but I have no idea what to cook or how to cook it.

Does anyone have any ideas about something that would be a good special meal that an amateur could make? I would really appreciate some help from all of you great chefs out there.

Give us some ideas on what your wife likes?
Flowers and wine are good...so is a good grilled steak.

lots of easy recipes out there I agree with sassy any allegries. Also do you want to grill or use the oven or pots and pans. What do you feel most comfortable with.

I had a cook out for the staff and pulled it off great many second trips back to the food which surprised me a little b/c most nibble at work and don't a whole lot.

most of the food I cooked, baked, and grilled is super simple but tasty.

Or...how about having her favorite restaurant deliver and then just supply the atmosphere?

Thanks for the replies so far. My wife has no allergies and as far as what I like to cook with I really don't care. It is all about the same as far as I am concerned at least as far as difficulty is concerned. CBS I could use some of those easy recipes that you are talking about. My wife really enjoys steak so if you have any good recipes for steaks or steak rubs then I would really appreciate it. Thanks for your time.

Dessert is banana pudding. Vanilla wafers, banana (slice) 6oz of phiildephia cream cheese, a big tub of cool whip and a can of eagle brand evaropated milk.

soften cream cheese in microwave and then add to big bowl add cool whip and eagle brand milk. mix well. then layer banana and vanilla wafers and mix in a nice looking bowl. can be almost fat free with reduced fat in all areas and it is so good. kk dessert covered

Ingredients:
6 oz cream cheese
can of eagle brand milk
box of vanilla wafers
bananas
big tub of cool whip

I had both chicken and steak kesbobs but if steak is it then that is great. the chicken recipe is cool for back up. Take a square cake pan. place bacon at bottom of pan add boneless skinless chicken breast on top.. pour lemon juice till half way point of the pan. Cover chicken breast with Cavender's spice, black pepper and grill mates steak. (sub or add favorite seasoning here) place bacon on top. Bake at 350 degree until chicken is done depends on elevation and yadda yadda.

Needed:
boneless chicken breast
2 packages of bacon
lemon juice
what ever spices you and her like
cake pan.

steaks: olive oil is your friend. no matter what grade of meat.

what ever you decide on steak rather the already bacon wrapped fillets or ribeyes impress her with putting olive oil on it and again cavender's spice and black pepper and a grill mate for steaks. cook to temp.

if you get a cheaper grade of meat simply fork it to death and add olive oil over it and it comes out tender also. and your choice of spices of course

sides:

eggplant: peel skin off and cut into one inch round sections drizzle with olive oil and the above mention seasoning. grill first great off the grill

yellow squash follow the above recipe

corn: remove husk and thread out all the strings things and drizzle with salt and olive oil and wrap in aluminum foil and grill first and last thing to be removed.

mushrooms: scatter on thick aluminum foil and drizzle with soy sauce and whoresice sauce. wrap to close on top and I use cavender's again so good

Asaparugus: place on heavy aluminum foil and drizzle with olive oil and add whatever spice is good. and wrapp up on top and grill again.

let me know if this helps or if it needs more steps. Best advice is to experiment before hand and get a taste and feel for it. Give an excuse to drink some red wine and grill or chug a beer back and say it is b/c you are grilling. grilling is just plain fun espically if you are trying to impress. olive oil in sub of butter adds to her mind flare and glamore and hey he is really good and he knows his way around a kitchen.

if you want to cheat a 12 oz of Diet Rite coke and cake mix and bake like normal according to box. and add icing. No eggs no butter or oil. taste just as great and just about lowest fat possible for cake icing included.

Thanks a lot for all the help. I think I will try that steak with some corn. She likes both of those and they taste great. Thanks for all the help cbs.

Oh and Spider I like your idea too, but I am hoping to get something in return at the end of the night and if I take her to McDonalds then that probably won't happen.

lets just say the dessert was even better than the steak, but it didn't take as long to finish.
