1 very strained marriage
2 kiddos
1 sacrificed youth
1 relieved dude....

I finally made it today... finished with residency. Taking a 3 month hiatus where I plan on doing nothing but having fun. Going back to my hometown to take care of my peeps. It seems surreal...

Its hard to describe. On one end, it seems like just yesterday I was enrolling as an undergrad. That was 13 years ago. That's nuts. Truthfully, there were only a few really tough years... the shock of 1st semester med school, the failed first marriage, and the first couple of years of residency on the 1:3 call schedule. Everything else was fairly manageable as long as I didn't sit down and think about everything I was missing out on...

I'm going to be a federal employee... could have made a lot more money, but I wanted a life... and I want to watch my little ones grow up.

Thanks... the student loans are going to be paid off in 4 years by my employer. Indian casino money FTW.
