Of course, to be really totally honest about things, Lyle Lovette And His Large Band has very little C&W on it...it's really an album of swing music not too different from Joe Jackson's Jumpin' Jive....the two albums together made one hell of a car cassette tape back in the day, but I digress. Nah...Really, this is a discussion, not an all out flame war or anything. It may get a little snippy at times here and there over the course of the thread, but nothing even close to what I would deem hostile or anything. |

I'm not a country fan either, but I listen to all those great country guitar players and try to cop as many of their licks and techniques as possible. I try to incorporate those techniques and ideas into my own style (and knowing how to play some country = more paying gigs.) |

I have the 4 box set in rotation from the Sun Recordings. Burgess, Cash, Mann, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Riley to name a few of the early Blues, Country and Rockabilly greats on the box set. Mixing it up with Mike Ness (from Social Distortion) solo stuff.
