BCJ-First of all, I should have been more specific as to what I was agreeing to. I believe that if you are the one bringing the food and has the tickets, you should be the first, if no the first, one of the first people to the site of the tailgate. Some were confused last year as to even if you were going to make it. Second, I never knew those idiots bought the tickets off you until later that night, let alone stiff you for some money. I am not their mothers and you were the one letting them take off with the tickets and not paying in full. I was going to be generous and front the money for them becasue I wanted to be on good terms with you. I had the cash and was going to give it to you when I came down. Things, family things came up this year and I will not be able to make it to the game. I will still be able to find a way to get you the money. But if thats a problem then.............
Don't say "man up", because that is just stupid. |

Hey Scalper troll, it's all about the money with you, and that's what has always been funny (in a sad way). No one tells you to buy $40k worth of Charger tix . You do that with the vision of $$$ dancing in your head, and you can't convince ANYONE otherwise. Re: Your "I hide behind Denver" comment. What a ****ing joke. You have no clue what I can afford and what I choose to spend. Hundreds of dollars per tailgate for supplies adds up to thousands each season you ignorant baffoon! Maybe you should stop trying to make a buck from those who you call friends but treat like customers, or don't take the liberty of calling them friends and expecting them to believe you're just doing this as a service to them. They should'nt subsidize your bad business ventures and money making schemes. We (CBF and I) think you're are not only a joke, but also a sad excuse for a friend! FYI: I would rather pay any other person double the price you charge, because most likely they wouldn't be FAKE, and yes, I could afford to go to SD to watch the Broncos, but SD isn't on my list of places I'd like to visit again. Nothing that special about it, that it deserves a second look! Last edited by TailgateNut; 12-19-2007 at 01:19 PM.. |

Ok I'm jumping into the fire!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There is no one size fits all to the tailgate. I had people b****ing at me that my tailgate was too big. I had people b****ing at me that they didn't like so and so. I had people b****ing at me that they can't **** in my toilet on the bus. I had people b****ing for all sorts of reasons. The solution: I stopped listening to all the b****ing and started having fun again! I applaud anyone that is willing to lay out the cash and put all the time/effort into hosting a tailgate party. It's work, it costs money but dammit I can't think of a better way to have fun on a Sunday! Salute to all you fools in Cali and beyond who haul the grills, bring the tables, help people with tickets, cook the food, donate food/cash/beer, oh and lets not forget cleaning the scum out of the coolers three days later. Go Broncos! |

Totally agree Meck. Havn't met TN, but would like to. i understand his comments. Why should another bronco fan have to make money off another bronco fan? I understand that, but also i do understand if john wants to bring all the food and drinks and have people chip in. It just sounds like he may go about it in a way that people think its just an investment for john. In any event, i have had a great time at the tailgate the past few years, just wont be able to make it this year. We are all bronco fans at heart trying to have a good time, lets keep it that way and everyone get along

First, the only investment as an a money maker is if the Chargers dont suck eggs. Everyone here knows that the biggest bandwagon fans are located in San Deigo. Eating 15 Ravens tickets when I was trying to sell many below face value. This team was on a great record after there 1 and 3 start but the bandwagon wasnt buying it (literally). Just picture this team going back to the way we know Chargers are capable of doing. I will lose 20k for one season without a problem. This is just how the fans are in LoCal. My intentions were to never buy 50 season tickets. In fact, I have owned these seats before i knew one soul at the Mane. As the Chargers were winning or at least having Plaza level get more popular, I had to increase my group tickets for one game (Broncos since 1993) to two games then they wanted to start a 4 game pack so I had to shell out for that. When the Chargers won the division 4 years back, they told me I either had to buy the whole season or move my group up to end zone upper view level. I have sat there after their SB run in 95 and decided to keep the seats. TGtroll, you can think otherwise but it was to keep these great seats that i have had all of 13 or 15 years. This is why I kept the seats. If this game was an investment, I would never let any of you know I own this many seats and sell them on stub hub for close to double (last years game). No one here has the obligation to buy tickets from me year end and year out. I dont have that choice if I keep these tickets via season tickets. If I dont shell out the big bucks for these seats, then we have 25 or more maners scrambling for tickets and will pay much more and be spread out throughout the stadium ie. Arizona. I have paid for food, beer, etc for many years (before the Mane) because the group of people that always bought tickets were showing up late and therefore parked far away. The group party i created in 1993 was being spliced so if I bought all the grub, they would have to get there at the same time to take advantage of the food. Since some of those people still come to the game and buy my tickets, I kept that tradition along. If that bothers anyone here of having one person getting the tailgate food and beer/soda, then I guess a public poll will be put out after the schedule comes out so we can get a head count of who is going and what way they want to go. Many of you come out of town and it makes it much easier to have all things done by one person/group ie. Orangemane weekend. I dont care one way or the other. It is just something I did to keep everyone together as one big group. TGtroll or anyone else can think otherwise. If that is you, please please please do not go against your beliefs of having me make $13 a ticket and buy somewhere else. Tailgatting together is what I have always pictured Broncos fans to do ever since i went to my first Broncos/Chargers game in 1992. Now, I dont want this to damage this weekend based on one person who doesnt leave the state of Colorado. I have a chance to be with 15 people that bought tickets for this game and are Broncos fans. THey are in the RV lot so set up room already by 11 am. I believe they are opened to having there spot as our party. If not, we can shoot for the marquee spot and all, including Dimitri, will meet there regardless if you bought tickets from me or not. I will still be going to Costco to get grub. All those that have there own tickets and want to go in on the tailgate, PM me so I have a head count. It will probably be $10 depending on how many. More the merrier when you go to "Bulk R Us" Costco.

2438, last year I would have never sold the tickets to you if I knew they were Chargers fans since I could have sold them to a number of Broncos fans. The money should have been upfront for all tickets when I got there. Yes, I believe we were going to get that money squared away when you were going this year. You couldnt make it so how long was I going to wait to get the $38? That is my beef after you called me out. Me not make it last year? It was the year before that had people wondering. I was considered early last year ![]() |

No big deal BCJ, I have no beef with you. I never knew that those chugger morons said they were going to pay you the balance after the game and never did. For the tickets i said that i needed before we even drove down for the game, those were all paid for. You had two extra while you were there and you sold them to them. I don't need to hold their hands, nor do i take responsibility for them, but to stay on good terms with you I will give you the balance. Everything is cool

Looks like mostly sunny, high 65 low 48. I'm sure it will be chilly come game time. Two years ago i got sick because it rained and i was soaking wet. |

One can find lightweight hooded raincoats for not too much $$... I think I've even seen 'em at dollar stores. I'm also pretty sure I've seen umbrellas there...

no umbrellas allowed but hoodies are perfect for crappy weather. Our worry has always been flying charger fans jumping off the bandwagon from the view level seats.

Not too surprising, really... I guess an umbrella could be used as a weapon. Anyway, having a lightweight plastic raincoat might spare people from getting wet/uncomfortable/soggy/sick if rain is in the forecast.

I will go on record vouching big time for John, whom , IMHO ranks alongside Meck in all he does for Broncos fans with his SD tailgates. I far from mind shelling out a little extra for food and beer....it's a relief actually that I don't have to search around for stuff the day I fly in. He's solid, honest and his tailgate is a great time. I hope to return to the SD tailgate next season provided the NFL doesn't screw me over with a daffy holiday date like they did this year.

OK, here is the info i just go tfrom the CHargers. I will post where we will be as I am waiting word on the RV situation. If not, back to the spot near the marquee. Here it is.......
With a near-capacity crowd expected for this Monday’s Chargers-Broncos game, fans should expect delays getting to Qualcomm Stadium and into the parking lot. ![]() Kick-off: 5:00 PM PST
**There will be no bus service to the Monday Night game on December 24. The MTS Chargers Express Bus and the NCTD BREEZE Express Bus will not service Qualcomm Stadium on December 24.** The San Diego Trolley is the number-one mode of transportation to the stadium. Fans can ride the Trolley on the enhanced Green Line between Old Town and Santee before and after all games. Charger fans will have increased options along the Green Line from the East County, including:
Fans can also pick up the Trolley at:
Amtrak will only have regularly scheduled service available on the Amtrak Pacific Surfliner to Downtown San Diego. There are no specialty schedules or fares to Old Town San Diego during December 24. Fans will need to purchase Trolley tickets before boarding the Trolley to the stadium. For schedule and ticket information, contact Amtrak at 1-800-USA-RAIL to or go to Amtrak.com. Driving to the Game For fans that must drive to the stadium, they are urged to arrive early and carpool. As usual, there will be heavy congestion around the stadium. Mission Valley, Fashion Valley and areas surrounding the stadium are expected to be congested with last-minute holiday shopping. Again, fans driving to the game are urged to plan ahead. Overflow parking will be available at the Chicago Title building (corner of Friars Road and Northside Drive), San Diego State University, the Mission Valley Marriott and the Town and Country Hotel. Overflow lots are $15 to park. You must purchase a ticket before boarding the Trolley to the stadium. With the parking lot expected to fill early, fans that are planning to tailgate should be reminded they are only permitted to do so in their parking space. Police will issue citations to fans whose tailgate parties infringe on neighboring parking spaces or parties which block sidewalk and pedestrian areas. Fans are also reminded that glass bottles are not allowed in the parking lot. Bud Light Chargers Power Party The Bud Light Chargers Power Party located in Lot F2 is the perfect tailgate opportunity for fans arriving early on the Trolley. The Power Party kicks off at 1:00 PM and features a giant Jumbotron screen and monitors all the pre-game action. Entering the Stadium Gates to the stadium will open at 3:00 PM. Club seat and luxury suite ticket holders will be admitted beginning at 2:00 PM. In order to be in their seats in time for the 5:00 PM kickoff, fans should arrive at the stadium gates by 4:00 PM. Chargers Code of Conduct Fans who demonstrate inappropriate and disruptive behavior, including the following, are subject to ejection and season ticket holders risk losing their season ticket accounts for:
* The Stadium is 100% smoke free. Smoking is prohibited in the seating bowl, on the concourses, in restrooms and in the luxury suites. There are three smoking sections. Two on the plaza level on the east end of the Stadium at Gates O1 and O2 and a third smoking section which is located on the west end of the plaza level at Gate E. Adherence to this policy will be strictly enforced. |
