Well we weathered the storm and hopefully we can put together a good third period. Kings looked flat in the second.

Kings destroy the Sabres, 8-2. Now that is what these youngsters are capable of. We played rookie Goaltender Jonathan Quick who stopped 2 of the 17 shots that came at him.
![]() Kopi gets 4 assists on the night. ![]() Dustin Brown gets 2 goals and 1 assist. The Dustin Brown, Anze Kopitar, Michael Cammalleri line combined for 10 points. Got a ways to go, but its a nice start to turn things around. |

http://mvn.com/qmjhl-maineiacs/2007/...tole-the-show/
Lewiston, Me- Jonathan Bernier only has played in four games in the NHL. Patrick Roy has played in 1,053 games and leads all goalies with 551 victories. Not mention the 4 Stanley Cups, 3 Vezina Trophies, 3 Conne Smythe Awards, 5 William M. Jennings Trophies and being to named multiple All-Star games. There’s no comparison to the two goalies yet. But the son of the Hall of Famer, Jonathan Roy says Jonathan Bernier is his idol. His father gave him the chance to go up against his idol and he stole the show. He stopped 27 out of the 28 shots he saw in a 4-1 victory over in front of 2,936 fans at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee Friday night. After no scoring in the first half of the first period, Angelo Esposito made it 1-0 when he beat Jonathan Bernier with 9:40 remaining. Another former Shattuck-St. Mary Prep player Kesley Tessier got the assist on the play. Samuel Groulx got the other assist. Felix Petit made it 2-0 almost six minutes later with 3:45 remaining in the period. Maxime Sauve got his first point of the night on the goal. Maxime Lacroix got the second assist on the goal. The Maineiacs were 0 for 1 on the powerplay and the Ramparts went 0 for 2 with the man advantage. Ramparts had a shooting gallery out there with 16 shots to Lewiston’s 7 on Jonathan Roy. The Maineiacs couldn’t score on the man advantage that carried over from the first period. Danick Paquette got his 13th on the year that trickled past Roy. Stefano Giliati and Stefan Chaput got the assists on the play. The Ramparts got the lead back up to two after Kevin Marshall pinched in to far and Maxime Savoie beat the defenders and Bernier went down early and Savoie took advantage. Darick Ste-Marie got the only assist at the 4:21 mark of the period. No other goals were scored in the period. Jonathan Bernier made an amazing save to rob Savoie. The hometown fans gave got back into the game with that save from the Los Angeles Kings 1st Round draft pick in 2006. The Maineiacs were called for a questionable too many of the men on the ice. Ed Harding wasn’t too impressed with that call. The Maineiacs had more chances in the second period, they had 13 shots on net. The Ramparts managed to get nine shots. In the third period, it was all Jonathan Roy. He made save after save. The Maineiacs brought the entire arsenal and it wasn’t good enough The Maineiacs had eight shots on the Hall of Famer’s son. It was also a penalty filled period with the calls going both ways. The Ramparts also had a too many man on the ice penalty in the third period. The Maineiacs got a powerplay with 1:29 remaining in the game. Billy Lacasse couldn’t get the puck deep into the offensive zone and the Ramparts cleared the puck into the neutral zone. Maxime Lacroix threw the puck towards the open net from the red line and he puts the nail in the coffin with 1:10 remaining. Jonathan Roy stopped 27 shots. Jonathan Bernier also stopped 27 shots but he saw 30 shots. The Quebec Ramparts went o0 for 8 with the man advantage and the Maineiacs were 0 for 7. The three stars were: 3. Jonathan Bernier 2. Angelo Esposito 1. Jonathan Roy The Maineiacs first star on Wednesday night Dave Taylor was a healthy scratch. That’s My Take |
