Default Utah Wins! with Beer?

Heard a lot of laughing with this one. Utah, beer? The brewer, Kevin Templin lives next door to me. Young guy with a young family and a wonderful neighbor, especially when he invites us over to sample!

RED ROCK MAKES UTAH STATE HISTORY IN BREWING!
Denver, Colorado October 11-13, 2007 - The annual Great American Beer Festival(GABF) was held at the Colorado Convention Center in downtown Denver! The 3-day festival showcased over 1800 brews with an expected attendance of over 46,000 people! The festival competition had record-breaking numbers, with 2,793 beers entered from 473 breweries located all across the United States.

The Great American Beer Festival is a highly anticipated event in the brewing community, being regarded as the highest recognition of their brewing skills and talents! Red Rock Brewing Company swept the competition taking home 5 medals and being awarded “Large Brewpub and Large Brewpub Brewer of the Year”, a top award given by the Brewer’s Association. Aside from this prestigious honor, Red Rock won its first gold medal ever with an Organic Pilsner and crowd favorite, Organic Zwickel Bier! Taking home 3 silver medals for Red Rock were the Black Bier, a German Schwarzbier, Nut Brown Ale, and American Style Brown Ale and Red Rock Rêve, a barrel-aged Trippel that will be available for purchase for the first time at Red Rock next month! Red Rock’s Munich Dunkel earned a bronze medal in the European Style Dark Lager category.

The event proved not only to be monumental for Red Rock and its brewing team, but a first in Utah state history with no brewpub or brewer ever achieving such an honor. “This is huge for Utah’s brewers!” exclaimed 7 year Red Rock brewer Kevin Templin, “Winning in any category is awesome, but this was so unexpected. It was definitely the best day in my entire brewing career!” The honor of being named Large Brewpub Brewer of the year for Kevin could not have happened without support from his brewing staff and the Utah brewing community!

This is the 26th year of the Great American Beer Festival, and Red Rock has earned a total of twelve GABF awards since opening its doors in 1994. While brewing over thirty different styles of beer on draft throughout the year, Kevin and his team work around the clock to entice the beer lovers of Utah with new brews! With so much to choose from, you’ll find that something good is always brewing at Red Rock!
