no television this week, but it doesn't matter...because I'm going to be at the game! I think after the turmoil this week the fans will get behind the team in a big way. Hopefully the defense can make some strides as we start conference play. GBR!

Yeah, I'm hoping the defense comes out with some fire this week. I've heard Dillard will be starting, so that might help. We aren't going to fix all our problems at once, but gaining confidence before Misery would be good. Either way it should be fun to watch Keller.

BMF, OU's looks like they might hang 50 on everyone, except maybe Texas.

How do you think the Husker D will do against the mobile QB Brett Meyer? I doubt you will have trouble with Iowa State......you should score at will against their D. Good luck.....gotta love this time of year! This is BIG 12 conference play~!

Just got back. Fun game overall. Really ugly/weird first quarter. Twice the defense forced a 3 and out only to have an idiotic penalty on the punt give ISU a first. The offense, which we lean on so much now, turned the ball over 3 times on the first 3 possessions, including a fumble on the goal line. After spotting them a 10-0 lead though, we went on a 35-7 run and won easily enough.

The defense is bound to be the story, and they played...better. Gave up a lot of yards still, but a lot of that was the offense turning it over and the offense scoring so quickly that the defense was almost always on the field. Time of poss. was way in ISU's favor. The defense forced 4 turnovers, including a 90 yrd pick six by Ruud that sealed the game.

OVerall I though they made some strides, made some plays, showed some confidence. There is still far too little pass rush a lot of the time, and the safeties are still not always in positions, and we were playing the worst offense we'll see for the rest of the year. Still, it was a baby step and hopefully the offense can hold on to the ball and help us score a lot next week!

I just remembered something that stuck out to me about the game. Nobody on this team has taken more heat the last few years than Grixby, but he has been really solid all year so far. Against ISU he was probably the MVP. He had two picks that were really good plays on his part and his kick returning helped turn the momentum of the game, including his 50+ yard return. He is a smart, scrappy player who brings a lot of heart to this team. I'm glad he is getting chance to shine this year after the criticism he had taken.

I'm going to be stuck away from the tv for this one, but hopefully I can listen to the radio. Not sure what to expect from this game. Our defense is going to give up its share of points, but if we can get a couple ints from the booger eater we could be in business. Yeah our defense has looked bad, but against an easier schedule their D has been even worse. Should be points aplenty.
