Man I can't wait for college football to start! I wish I was going to be in Nebraska for opening week. The buzz is amazing and I miss it.

I know what you mean. I'm hope to make it out to a game sometime this year. While we are on the subject, and killing time till kickoff, What's the best NU game any of you guys have seen in person?

I got to go to the night game when we hosted Notre Dame. It was an incredible atmosphere, but a couple early turnovers by the Irish made sure the game was never exciting

Last year I saw the KU near-disaster. As awful as the defense was, and as painful as it was to watch us blow a huge lead, it was cool to see an OT game. Plus even players were saying afterward they had never heard the stadium so loud. I guess that's what happens when 80,000+ panicked Husker fans realize we are on the brink of losing to KU at home.

I liked going to see us play Pacific!! All the games Ive seen we end up winning big time. I saw a OU/NU game that we crushed them. No fun

I saw the 2001 OU vs NU game where Crouch caught the TD pass from Mike Stuntz. Lots of smack talk from the OU guys early on in that game.

If Jason White does not go down with the knee injury, we win that game...

BTW, I was at the NU OU game the year before in Norman, #1 vs. #3...the absolute loudest I had ever heard a game. Nebraska had two early TD's and a 14-0 lead...and from that point on they had 57 yards over the next three quarters. OU 31-NU 14

Didn't he hurt himself on a trick play in which he was the (wide open) receiver? I remember people joking afterward that Nebraska won because our qb was the better receiver.

No...he was running out of bounds and threw downfield...

Nate Hybl was the one that missed the pass...

Nice nice win to open the season. we were able to beat down an inferior opponent as we should have. the o-line, especially on pass blocking, dominated. Lucky looked really good, but the star of the game may very well have been none other than...Kunalic! Touchback after touchback not to mention a 46 yrd field goal that we wouldn't have thought about attempting last year. Much bigger test next week, but it's good to see we can seperate from lesser teams.

Probably, but in my opinion they should fall to about 20 for that loss.

I forgot in my list of players who impressed, Steve Freakin' Octavian. He was everywhere, especially early on. It will be great to have him healthy this season, because he gets in the back field quicker than anyone else we have on D.

yeah, I see this extension as being a good thing. It hasn't been an instant turnaround, but we are definitely settled into the new offensive system and have opened a great recruiting pipeline with this staff. Cally will need a few big wins before he convinces everyone they made the right decision in bringing him in, but he has shown he can replenish our talent level enough to earn some more time to build his program.
