I thought that it might be a good idea to start this thread but I could be wrong. I haven't been to Denver for several years now and I will be making my first trek to the new Mile High. I usually stay at the Holiday Inn but I am wondering and I am sure others do, where are good places to stay that will not cost me an arm and a leg. Also, is there a Holiday Inn near the stadium?

There's one down in the 16th st. Mall...is that the one you're talking about?
We are staying at the Red Lion by Invesco. |

I think there's a thread that is burried way down here somewhere that talks about where to stay.
Anyway, you could stay virtually anywhere in Denver and catch the lightrail. Or, you could stay in the 16th st. Mall area, take the free mall ride tot he lightrail and take the lightrail to the stadium. Or, you could stay at the Red Lion next to Invesco and walk. Other option is Tech Center. I think you can take a lightrail from there, too. Can a local confirm? I'd do a search on something like Hotels.com and a lot of those will allow you to narrow your search to a popular site and then you would choose Invesco. But, I'd avoid hotels near the airport. That's quite a drive, IMO. |

Thanks ladies,
I have reservations at the Holiday Inn on W Colfax near the Co Mills Mall but I wanted to find a Holiday Hotel closer in. I can get free room nights with my priority points. |

Well, if I can stay in closer to Invesco I will. I just don't know the city like I used to. I lived there from 1969-1979 and the place has changed 10 fold since then. I last visited Mile High in December 2000... I am ashamed but I usually attend at least one game a year although they have been road games. Cincy, Indy, St. Louis, San Diego, etc. I am looking forward to the game and the party. See ya soon Meck

We will have a car but then we will have to park it. Maybe we can work something out. There is a bar that we used to go to before the games and they had a shuttle to the stadium. They had parking near there. I will check all this out. I arrive on Thursday.
By the way I will be in Hell-A on the 10th of August. I have to work all weekend but, maybe we can hookup on Sunday night Last edited by crawdad; 07-27-2007 at 05:28 PM.. |

If you don't mind walking a few blocks, you can park on Humbolt street for free. It's just about 2 blocks south of Colfax on the west side of Federal. I have several friends who do this when they attend my Tailgaters and don't feel like coughing up $30 for parking. |

Hey Crawdad, I gave you the wrong street name earlier. It's "W. Holden Place" not Humbolt. Plame the oldtimers disease!
