Not too much though. Funny how the fat-is-okay, carbs-are-the-enemy Atkins approach is incorporated into this ...Science edges closer to fountain of youthhttp://bioweb.usc.edu/courses/2002-f...p_fountain.pdf http://www.medicinenet.com/script/ma...ticlekey=52404 . |

The trick is nutrient-dense foods, and elimination of complex carbohydrates (no sugars).
The trick is to only eat foods that give you the most dense important nutrients ... that way, you eat less, but still retain nourishment: What is nutrient density and why is it so important? http://www.whfoods.org/genpage.php?tname=george&dbid=81 . I tried Muesli today...not bad!
I also bought some barley...looks similiar to oatmeal. They're still high in carbs...but it's good carbs! |

Yeah ... and ground flaxseed, of flaxseed meal, is the food highest in Omega-3 oils. I get it and wheat germ and oat bran in the baking aisle, and put some of each in my smoothies.
I dunno about Muesli - is that a cereal? |

Didn't I tell you about the flax and wheat germ! ![]() Muesli is whole grains, dried fruits, nuts and seeds. (rolled oats, wheat, rye , triticale and barley, dates, raisins , flax, sunfower seeds, almonds and walnuts. You can eat it hot, cold or right out of the bag). I got that and the barley flakes in the grocery store (heath food aisle) but you can order it. The website is www.bobsredmill.com Last edited by Sassy; 07-09-2007 at 07:32 AM.. |

No, I knew about them - even posted 18 months ago suggesting people use 'SmartBalance' because of Omega-3 and flaxseed oils: http://www.orangemane.com/BB/showpos...6&postcount=46 You might have mentioned where they were in the grocery store though - I think it was you, or else you told me how to grind them, something like that
Flaxseed, walnuts and kiwifruit have lots of it, and are the best non-fish sources, but you can also buy supplements of Linoleic, Alpha-Linolenic and Alpha-Lipoic acids. . |

Now why does that not surprise me?!
Just watch ... I'll follow this diet rigidly for twnty, thirty years, and I'll be in perfect health, then one day I'll get hit by a bus. I don't think there's a single food or diet regimen that can help you when you get hit by a bus. Hopefully, I'll be a spry and energetic 88 years old! ![]() |

Time to step up the excercise, then. It just means that your caloric intake and burn have now become equal. Add another 10 minutes a day to your cardio. Increase the cardio intensity. Change the type of cardio you are doing. Change up your weight training routine. I know, easier said than done...but, it works!

This exercising stuff is like work. And I would know, I've seen people work before.

Down 21 pounds in 7 weeks. 11 more to get to the top end of what the Dr. recommends. I would like to drop 10 below that, but I think I was 15 years old the last time I weighed that little.

Wow, we've got some nice, beefy guys here. But don't worry...it's all good. Women like trampolines of love.
There's a radical diet that's kinda crazy but it works. But be careful doing this: 1. Go to an extremely rough neighborhood. 2. Walk past gangs. 3. Give them the finger and shout, "YOUR MAMA." in any language, this is trouble. 4. Run like hell. 5. Go home and drink a lot of water. It's the equivalent to an obstacle course and cardiovascular fitness. You run for your life (thus accelerating heart rate), improve flexibility (by diving over cars and dashing through traffic). Burn calories (by dodging bullets and bottles). There are two drawbacks to this diet. One, you cannot do this in one place more than once. And two, it has a high mortality rate. But really, it isn't the weight so much as how you're made...I've seen the same weight on two people and they look completely different. So... EAT UP. Worry later. On |

DING DING DING! 289!
I thought I'd never break 294 ... so I've been half-starving myself the past 10 days. I guess it worked! That's 31 pounds in three months, goal weight: 240. (Ideally, 225 ... but 240 will work at my age). Hey Old Dude ... OM Awards this year? |
