Bud Light, Budweiser, Bud Select, Amber Bock...pretty much any Anheisur Busch product..never have liked anything Miller makes..Coors isn't bad..Fat Tire, Carona, Heiniken, Killians, Hefenweisen, Bulevard...if it's beer i'll try it at least once..one beer i can't just sit there and drink is Guiness..the first one isn't bad but after that i get sick of the taste and to full, very thick dark beer!! Has anyone had the Sam Adams that has that cherry flavor..not bad!!

Mmmmmmmmmmmm.
You can actually stomach that crap?!? You absolutely MUST try some other, any other hefeweizen's/wheat brews. That stuff's just plain nasty!

Quite honestly though, if you have the means and opportunity I highly recommend Delirium Tremens. It's brewed in the trappist style. It's absolutely the best beer I've ever had....with the possible exception of their Nocturnum (dark). I'm going to get me some tonight, they usually run $10/bottle in the bar. $5 or so retail. Get you some, it's well worth it.
Moose Drool is indeed good, but it's not even in the same universe with McEwans Scotch Ale. That is truly the nectar of the gods!

I'm gearing up for my first batch of home brew. I'm working on getting all my bottles cleaned up today. Might start tomorrow. My first recipe is a hefeweizen. I had a dark hefeweizen in Bavaria Germany last week and that was quite tasty.

It takes a 'special kinda guy' to go through all the fuss of ingredient finding, purchasing, blending, the instructions-following, waiting, brewing, chilling, pouring - and finally drinking ... when I just picked up a 12-pack of cold, ready-to-drink Widmer Hefeweisen for just $12.99.

I'm just sayin' ...

I got the starter kit from Midwest Supplies; primary fermenter, secondary fermenter(glass carboy), bottling bucket and all the accessories. I'm going to make my own wort chiller, half the cost to make my own. I did just spend all day cleaning bottles. Some bottles had excellent glue on the labels and were a pain to get off. Also some friends that were helping me collect bottles never rinsed them out so they had some extra stuff going on inside those bottles.

cool thanks, that is the cheapest I have seen that setup. I will soon be purchasing my own. I've always thought it would be cool to make my own batch of beer.

The beer making has commenced. The grains have steeped and the malt and hops are boiling.

Well, to my knowledge, this is the last night for non-football threads on the main board. So I thought I'd bump this lovely thread one last time. So far tonight, I've been drinking Tecate. But I just switched over to a new whiskey I bought last week...Jameson 18 Year Old Master Selection. It's a blended whiskey made from three whiskeys, each at least 18 years old. They were brought together and left to sit and marry for a while longer before being bottled.

Here's to football! Cheers!!!

Neg rep isn't good enough for that fellow. I expect he would get a beating with wet rope and have to give Bobo a sponge bath

Down here in Bolivia we have a fairly good stout - Taquina Stout. Its the only local brew I can really get into. If you ever find yourself here, you should try one. Additionally, if you ever get over to Chile, there is a brand called Kunstmann. Its a bit pricey, but its some of the best beer I have ever tasted on the planet. Its brewed by a bunch of displaced Krauts (rumor is they landed in Chile in early 1946 - just a joke). I understand that during the Intl fest they have in Santiago every year, the German Embassy serves it up as "German Beer" even thou its a local product.

Ahhh....I love living in the northwest. I think I'd have withdrawals if I lived on the east coast.
The beer ain't worth putting up with the depression of the constant overcast. I absolutely despised the weather there!

The Pac NW has some good beers, but having traveled all over the country and trying beers from all over I think they are over-rated. There are great breweries everywhere.

Best beer ever: McEwan's Scotch Ale!!!!!

Beer of the night - Flying Dog (out of Denver) imperal stout. Was an average stout, and not worth the price.

Currently in my fridge:
1. Coors Light
2. Miller Chill

3. Leinenkugel's Sunset Wheat

4. Big Sky IPA
