I also have shaved dry a time or two out of necessity. But every time it irritates my skin horribly. I don't see how you do it every day, but more power to you if it works for you.

I use a new razor every 2 shaves. It has to be very sharp or it does snag and pull the hairs and hurts like a beotch. Obviously some areas is a little more sensitive then others, I could dry shave my cheeks and chin upwards, downwards, sideways with no problem. I almost feel nothing at all. The upper lip and neck area do get a little sensitive and thus I go with the grain in those areas. Slap on a little aftershave gel and all is good.

I like my Mach 3 pretty well (although the battery is silly). But you MUST:

RINSE THE BLADES FULLY EVERY 2nd or 3rd STROKE!!

Ever since I started that, I get 3 weeks out of each blade.


I think the bigger-biggest culprit in sub-par standard shaving processes is the crappy gel creams Edge and Gillette sell ... but this new stuff is AWESOME! Three varieties depending on your skin. TRY THESE!!

I tried the orange label one today for the first time and really liked it. I hate the gels and I always had to hunt down on the dusty bottom shelves for my favorite, Joe Namath Noxema. (Take it off, take it all off )

I started shaving in the shower about three months ago. I bought a shower mirror thats anti fog (yeah right). But i take a bar of soap and rub all over my face and head, then apply shave gel. Works perfect, gets closer than ever.

Once you come to realize and accept that this stuff doesn't lather, and you only need a thin coat rubbed in, then you'll realize. Its better than anything I've ever used - gel, foam, lotion, soap, powder, even cup & brush.

Moving from gel to this stuff ^^^ was like moving from Sensor to Mach 3.

And Big Guy, you're right - I always loved menthol, but I don't think you can get it in any gel anymore .... just the old school foam.

I would love to get a straight razor and give that a go, but I know you can slice the hell out of yourself, but it will still give you the best shave. I go simple w/ disposable razors and use them a max of 2 times. Having a razor that bends when you shave really doesn't help.

Overseas I prefer the Mach three without the ultra stupid face vibrator. It's a close shave and the blades last forever.
