Default It's Almost That Time Again ... ORANGEMANE ANNUAL PLEDGE DRIVE!

The Annual OrangeMane Pledge Drive!

The server payment is right around the corner ... and the first of the month is coming up! It's not fair for TJ to sweat out that payment every year when we have hundreds of regular users - daily users - who can contribute. Last year the average suggestion was $25 - which is a paltry $2.09 per month over one year. More if you can afford it, but even $5 is enough to contribute.

So then, in the tradition of PBS pledge drives, immortalized in animated cartoon form, and paraphrasing the endlessly entertaining Betty White ...
If you read even one post on OrangeMane
without contributing ... that's STEALING!
So don't wait for the Pledge Enforcement Van to pull up in your driveway!

The official pledge thread will be up soon ... please set something aside.

One of the greatest Simpsons episodes ever. JEBUS help me JEBUS. Let me know I will hit up TJ with some dough for the server. I know there is a paypal account but is there another way we are handling this?

Definitely! "I'm gonna call you .... Lisa Junior."

And "Pledge Enforcement Van"?! That's a scream! Betty White is beyond hilarious. She and Ted Knight had some of the most classicly hilarious scenes in sitcom history.

This is a great opportunity to give back to this place that makes things great. With any luck, maybe if we give enough, TJ will upgrade the server so it won't crash during games, training camp, the draft, etc.

More than happy to contribute. I'll watch for the pay link. But one condition...NO more of those sad pics of baby Z cutting his teefers. Broke my heart.

A $ target for a new server would be something we can aim at.

Thanks for the thought Buff...

To move up to the server at the next level of RAM, we need $1500. That's a steep bill, which is why we haven't made the switch yet. The ultimate goal is to move to our own server at a local co-lo, but I'm not yet ready to trust the server. I've got a friend taking a look at it, and the hope is that we'll be able to make the switch in due time.

In the meantime, to stick with the server we're on, it costs me $894 every 6 months. Typically, between the donations and the money I get through Google ads, we're able to cover this nut. Sometimes there's a little left over, sometimes I'm reacing in my pocket to cover the gap.

I definitely apprecaite all the support I've gotten over the years.

I will make my annual pledge to never donate a dime, abuse the system and bypass the censors.

Just my way of stickin it to the man that put ads on the last refuge I had from them.
