Rich Hill of the Cubs has retired all 15 Cardinal batters who've come to the plate tonight.

Sure didn't take long to put the whammy on the kid's Perfecto.

Corey Hart took him deep to start the inning, now the Cubs have committed back to back errors (the second one by Hill).

Matt Holliday with an absolute bomb to left center. You don't hit cheapies at Petco, that baby was a no doubter.

Jason Hirsh is having a pretty nice Rockies debut thus far.

That Jennings trade will start growing on people soon enough.

Jennings didn't exactly embarass himself in his Astros debut. Unfortunately, it was Wheeler's turn to cost a starter a win after a teriffic effort. Lidge had the night off.

Vlad Guerrero blasts a three run homer. He's off to a sizzling start this season.

Yeah...he took up where Jennings left off...a la...shutting down the Madres. Holliday crushed a Maddux mistake, and the Madres' late rally falls short again.

They have a hell of a time with the Rockies.

Awesome outing by Hirsh. Taveras needs to start getting on base more though. Really surprised with how well Matsui is playing so far too.
Francis, Lopez and Hirsh all with outstanding outings to start the year. Nice start for the Rockies.

A-Rod with a grand slam in the bottom of the 9th to win it for the Yankees 10-7.

Not a bad day at the plate, 3-4, 2 HR, 6 RBI, 4 R

Wow.

They're probably hating on him right now for not hitting it far enough.

Yankee fans are booing him for making them nervous and waiting until the 9th inning instead of doing it earlier

Or they are just saying to themselves its only April and vs. the Orioles lets see what he does in Oct against Boston.

I'll be cheering my ass off for A-Rod years from now when he makes the all-time home run record legit again.

Yeah, the small consolation is peckerface will only have his asterisk tainted mark for a few years before A-Rod obliterates it.

Calculating ARod's final HR tally, he will turn 32 this year, and I'll say he probably will play til he is 40. 8 more years after this one.
He has 465 homeruns at the moment. I will estimate that he hits 45 this year, so that would leave him with 507 homeruns after this season.
Say he averages 40 for 3 more years, thats another 120 homeruns, so after 2010 he has about 627 homeruns
Then I will estimate he averages 35 homeruns for 3 years, which is another 105 dingers. End 2013, you are looking at 732 homeruns.
2 more years averaging 20 homeruns, gives him another 40 so the final tally estimated will be 772 homeruns.
Now, its really tough to really estimate and all, I mean, he could be an average hitter after 35 and not hit 30+ each year, or he could be done before he is 40. Heck, he could also crank out 50+ for a couple seasons.
Although, the man may go down as one of the best players to every play the game. He will likely end up with well over 3,000 hits, most likely 700+ homeruns, 2,000+ RBI's, 2,000+ runs scored, 500+ doubles, possibly 300+ stolen bases, a good average of around .300 if not above and a good on base percentage. Plus, he plays solid defense.
I will say I like ARod a lot, and would like to see him hold the title.
Now, could anyone contend for ARod's record? Pujols maybe?
As well, I like looking this stuff up to see how a players totals may end up at the end of their career.

So far Fogg is pitching decent.
Taveras is starting to piss me off though. 0-2 so far, and a weak pop out to short LF on the first pitch with runners on 2nd and 3rd. Luckily, Carroll came through with a 2 run single up the middle. Rocks are aggressive on the base paths tonight, it has come back to bite them though as Helton was thrown out trying to stretch a single into a double and Carroll trying to advance to 2nd.

Haha, watching mlb.tv broadcast, its Padres announcers, and the trivia question was Name the 2 Rockies who have won the NL Batting Average Title.

Anyone see the problem with that question? I'll give you a hint, the Rockies have had 3 winners of the Batting Average title.
1993 - Galarraga with a .370 average
Larry Walker did it multiple times
Helton once as well

Their answer was only Walker and Helton
