if there was a quid pro quo of some sort, something that was expected in return for the favor, that is a violation of the Hobbs Act, a federal code that prohibits bribery and extortion wait this is a mob families we are talking about. nevermind. guess the mole would never give us up huh.

Sign-ups are complete, so I'm going to close this thread now.
Later this morning, I will post a sticky for the rules and general FAQ. There will be rules changes from time to time, so check it when you have questions, but try not to post on it. I will start a separate thread (the main thread) for the actual game. |

Oh, what the heck. I may as well unlock this thread for the rest of the day, in case you all feel like taunting each other. I'll close it up tomorrow when I put up the main game thread.

When I post the main thread, which will contain the round by round action and commentary, I will kick off each round with a list of "eligible targets." Try to kill one of them.
That's pretty much it. |

ODY's Cliff Notes for the Confused:
There's only one real rule to worry about....be the last contestant standing. The first round is a simple "pick one loser and give 'em the shaft". Then the thirty other players will be divided into "families". The second round you get a couple of choices on how to use your votes. You can either use three votes (aka a tommy-gun burst) against other people but have no defense yourself or use one vote (aka Saturday nite special) against someone else and one vote to block someone else's vote against you. The two players who receive the most "votes" from the other players are snuffed. They get a little payback though and each stiff gets to send one player to the Big House the next round. The third and most subsequent rounds are like round two, except there may be one or more contestants competing from behind bars and the people in "families" who had people killed the last round are immune from votes this round (except their members who are in the pokey). The prisoners have only a single vote (no three vote barrage) and they never get immunity from anybody. Plus the Big Loser from round one (who might think they have a purdy mouth) can use his votes on you in revenge. About being in the slammer: You have two options really....tough it out and stay in the Big House with reduced vote firepower and no defense vote or immunity, or turn into a squealing rat and take the Witness Protection option which gets you out of the slammer and gets you back your defensive vote but pisses off your former family by taking away their chance for immunity in a round while you draw breath. Easy. If you snuff it, pick somebody to go to the slammer and watch em squirm from the afterlife. If that somebody in the slammer is you, decide if you are a "man" or a "rat" and take the consequences of your decision until you either win or die. If you are the Big Loser from round 1, hang around in prison and shiv the bastages as they show up (or make em your love puppets) until they die or the game ends. |

Don't you have to change your identity in order to be in the Witness Protection Program?

Cool idea STG, but I'm not sure how to translate that into rules. But to answer the prior question, right now you can enter the Witness Protection Program any round after you have been sent to the slammer. If you want to tough it out a few turns before turning into a squealing rat, that's OK.
