What can we all do to fix the ridiculously slow site that we all love.

One possibility is let casual posters have say 7 posts a day for free and the more active posters could pay an annual fee to have unlimited access and maybe access to members only sections of the board.

I would have no problem paying $50 a year to have a speedy board. If just 100 posters felt that was good value that is 5 grand a year. What would that buy?

Sorry...I love the board...and have no problem donating...but I wouldn't pay $50 a year to hang on a message board.

I agree, I'm not paying $50 a year for a message board. Don't want this to be like the nfldraftblitz.com website, where I have a feeling when they started to charge out the wazoo for everything, a lot of people left.

I don't disagree with this, but I think the 7 posts a day thing is pretty funny. Where in the heck did you come up with that?

Honestly, I think a better solution is to just throw out a number for a year of a decent server, and then do a fund raiser. It's sort of the PBS model. Every day, TJ could post in a stickied thread where we were with donations for the day, and how much more we needed. I've donated small amounts via PayPal a few times, but it's hard when you don't know if it's making a dent.

Exactly. TJ, why not post a thread and just explain the situation in black and white terms, having the info out there maybe we'll get it fixed before the draft?

Maybe, just maybe, mock is an eccentric billionaire who'll pay for the whole thing!

Or just close the place to guests...

I agree... Lets see the cost to be on a GOOD server for the year and let the fund raising begin!

I think you all should petition pat bowlen and ask for a donation to upgrade the server... Hell this is the biggest donkey site on the net... you do have the biggest tailgate... Meck advertises the team with that weather beaten bus! The site was mentioned in a publication.... Ask and ye shall receive!

Okay, I thought it was just a random number you came up with. Seven posts a day is still over 2500 a year.

What about charging for grammatical/spelling errors? Or charging just for posts that were clearly made under the influence of something? Or posts that are just plain stupid? The possibilities are endless!

Are we sure it is the server? Seems like we have had more traffic on game days, draft days, etc.

It seems anytime there are over 150 people here it's bogged down.

...Just a thought...and I might get ripped for this...but it is TJ's hobby and I thought he wanted his project to "fly"... Like I said, I have no problem with donating but on another level, no one pays me for my hobbies. I do them because I want/like to.

This place has been the best place for Broncos info since Schefter left. I'd have no problem donating as well. On the other hand, I like Maximus' idea. Is there some way we could all sign some type of letter requesting Bowlen to donate. It would be peanuts to him and we are promoting the team he owns...

It's our site so we should pay towards it. Just my take. I'm on two other boards that I frequent back here in the UK and the only way they stay alive is through annual subscriptions. $20 is a more than fair price and if only 150 paid it that's $3000 per annum.

TJ put the word out and the money will flow. Could you put down some options that would fix our problem?

We go throught this problem over and over. My two cents is that the PBS style thing would work. Donatesr would get a little star or somthing by their av, and i believe enough cash would flow in. I dont want to speak for tj, but the the answer he gave before was its an exponential price jump to the next level of ram...and i think he has his own plan for the mane.
