I guess I can give you all a very brief and very cryptic "preview" of Rounds 1 and beyond ...

Round 1 will begin on March 7. All players will get one vote, and one person will be "eliminated" at the end of that vote. This will be our BIG LOSER for the game, but I'm sure that person won't harbor any ill feelings over it.

Now, usually when someone gets voted out, they are considered "dead."

The victim in Round One will be out of the race, permanently, but won't be considered "dead" for all purposes.

Not exactly.

Instead, that person will be sentenced to LIFE IN PRISON WITHOUT THE POSSIBILITY OF PAROLE. The joint. The slammer. The pen. The permanent penalty box.

Now, this could get pretty boring for that person, except for one thing.

Some of you other folks will be making reservations at Sing-Sing later on. Unlike the victim in Round 1, you'll still be in the game, and capable of voting "normal" people off and even winning the whole thing. There's even a way for other cons to get out of prison and back on the streets - though some might find it a little dangerous out there afterwards.

But the person who goes down in Round One can never get out of the joint and, like I said, can never win the game.

However, the big loser in Round one will have the option to carry out petty acts of revenge against other persons in prison, where all sorts of unfortunate accidents can occur ... poison in the food, shivs in the workshop, slips in the showers, etc. Some of these might prove fatal.

So remember, don't do the crime if you can't do the time.

In Round Two, the 30 "surviving players will be evenly divided into three "Crime Families." I will use a random distribution method, based on the order of signup.

There will be good things and bad things about being in your respective "family." The good thing is that family membership, under some circumstances, can be a way to gain immunity in certain rounds of the game - - which is nice, because we will have many, many double elimination rounds. Family membership also entitles you to kewl things like "heaters" (Thompson sub-machine guns).

The bad thing about being in a family is that almost everyone else in your family will have a motive to kill you - - even moreso than members of competing families.

So in Round 2, after you've been divided into families, we'll hand out the sub-machine guns, and let you all go at it. The top two vote getters will die.

And on we go to Round three.

Oh, wait a minute. I forgot about the immunity thing. Any family that loses a member to the grim reaper in a given round gets immunity from all votes the following round. Kewl, huh? So long as you aren't the one who got killed.

Oh, wait another minute. I also forgot about the revenge thing. When someone dies, they get to make a "bequest" the following round. This is called snitching from beyond the grave. Making someone else take the fall, etc. If and wen you die, then, the following round you can "finger" any one person of your choice, and send them to prison.

People in prison have their machine guns taken away, but can still vote. They just don't have quite the voting power that they would have on the streets. Nor do they get to share in any sort of family immunity.

And remember the BIG LOSER from Round 1? Yup, he/she will be waiting for you in there - and might be inclined to make you their chicken.

Yup, it can be a tough situation in prison, which is why we will have THE WITNESS PROTECTION PROGRAM for those of you willing to snitch out on your families. This can also make you very unpopular with certain people, because any family who has a former member in the WITNESS PROTECTION PROGRAM loses all immunity so long as the snitch is alive and walking around.

Need I say more?

Anyway, that gives you some idea of what to expect in the first bunch of rounds.
