When I'm back in Cheyenne, the Big Horn Big Red at CB Potts is a good beer too. It's kind of like a red pale ale. |

Broken Halo is my second favorite IPA. I'm not a big fan of the Bridgeport stuff to tell you the truth. Their beers taste a little bland to me... |

Heh...I'm not big amber guy, but I do like the name. At the local brewery here in Klamath there's a beer called Butt-crack Brown. It's the best beer there.
Ahhh....I love living in the northwest. I think I'd have withdrawals if I lived on the east coast. |

Yeah, when I went to the Bridgeport brewery I didn't care for most of their stuff, but their IPA is still up there in my book. Red Hook's is pretty good too. Have you tried Thunderhead from Pyramid? That's about the hoppiest stuff I've ever tasted. I like hoppy beer, but that stuff knocked me back a few feet the first time I tried it.

Moving to Alabama really wasn't that bad, and nothing like I was expecting. I live in Madison which is at the very top of Alabama, about 20 minutes from the Tennessee border and 90 miles from Nashville. The area we live in is filled with people who have transferred from different areas due to work (Boeing, NASA, Military). The one thing that is nice about down here, is that the cost of living is nothing compared up in Seattle and those areas. But, I do miss the mountains and scenery and all that stuff though. I haven't been back in a while, but when I do go back, I am going to stock up on some of the beers I can't get down here. |

Last sixers I bought of Liberty Ale (San Fran) and Sierra Nev Pale have been skanky. I'm sticking with Turbo Dog from Abita in Louisiana till I get to new orleans.

Great thread. I've never had any of the New Belgium beers. Every time a beer thread is started they get good mentions.
I like most beers - depending on my mood. I certainly like trying new stuff that I can't get here. Right now I'm drinking something new I bought from a microbrewery in Portland, Maine... "Island Ginger". ![]() Some of my summer favorites are Wachusett Blueberry (from Mass.) and Sea Dog Blueberry Wheat (Maine) ![]() In the fall I like these pumpkin ales from Smuttynose (NH) and Shipyard (Maine): ![]() Harpoon Brewery in Boston has an excellent Winter Warmer (cinnamon-y ...even better on tap at the brewery). ![]() There's also a brewery in Burlington, VT called Magic Hat that puts out very good beer. Their "#9" is an apricot ale that has been their mainstay for a long time: ![]() What is a HUGE bummer is that Massachusetts is one of the lame ass states that won't let you send or receive beer through the mail. If I were ever to arrange for a swap of some kind with someone here I would have to have a friend in NH or RI help me out. I hope you buggers appreciate the pictures - it took me a while. ![]() |

For the hop-heads that love IPA I've found they love the Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale. It's pricey...6.8% alcohol content. ![]() |

Anybody in Denver know of Flying Dog Brewery? I bought some IPA that was good, and not so old it tasted like piss... not that I actually know what piss tastes like. I bought a buddy a 12 pack taster pack too, but he didn't share any with me.

That a good question, I pick up Flying Dog's Stout and wasn't bad, worthy another 6 pack.

Look at the artwork: Brewery co-founder George Stranahan was Hunter S. Thompson's friend and neighbor in Aspen, Colorado. Actually, I thought Hunter was a co-owner. |

I think a lot of people that do drink it, do so because it's the major beer here that isn't a bud/bud light/coors light. It's usually the "classy" choice when only 5 beers are offered/carried. Personally, I like their Summer Ale best. The others are OK too, but I don't like the original. |

this thread is getting me in the right mode. I'm out in Seattle area next week and there are number of little breweries that make some very nice Porters and Stouts.

At one time when Samual Adams was growing they were actually renting vats from the brewery that made Iron City Beer.

ratebeer.com is a great site for thos who are interested in expanding their selection of beers. You can also sort by what is top rated in your area and what is available in your area. Great place to find new beer.
