Oh, so many to list...
Boddingtons Pub Ale (creamy, like a Guinness, but far lighter) Guinness (creamy, like a Boddingtons, but far darker) Blue Moon (gotta have that orange slice in it, screw "the man laws") Henry Weinhard's Summer Wheat Ale Drop Top Amber (by Widmer) Pyramid Curveball.... I could go on and on.... I love living in the Northwest |

Dude, I was going to put Blue Moon with the Orange slice! I tried it in CHicago a few years ago and love that Belgium beer. If you havent had the beer with orange slice (no lemon no lime), then try it and report back. Every bar in Chicago is required to stock or the mob will break some legs. They must be the distributors for it. Sam Smith is a good English beer. I like Oat Stout for those tough days. Winter Lager Sam Adams on tap is pretty tasty.

It is amazing how sierra nevada does no advertising yet they are in every state. If you get a chance to go up to Chico, California, take the tour and go to the bar to try the SAMPLER. So many beers they dont bottle. Beer mustard is good too. I took it to Australia to trade with a liquor store of some Old Tooheys Beer. Some of the best beer in Australia. |

We need to do some trading six packs. I actually like Lunikugels Wheat and some with fruit (cherry?). I go to Wisconsin every three years and pick up a case but they dont have it in Cali. For some reason, it taste better this last summer than 3 years before. Better brewing?

As for myself, I don't drink a lot of beer, I'm more of a cocktail guy, but when I drink I prefer Tannenzäpfle and Becks. Occasionaly a Hefe or Kristallweizen in the summer. |

Why does everybody call wheat beers "summertime" beers? In the ads, on their sites, in beer reviews, even in their names: "Henry Weinhart's Summer Wheat." I just found this Widmer Hefeweizen 3 months ago, and it's great in the cold months too, I assure you.
I guess I have something to look forward to this summer... |

I am a Native Floridian, but lived in Baltimore for a year. That's where I was introduced to Yuengling. Awesome beer! I am now back in FL and only drink it, like someone said earlier, in a bar from the tap. If you ever have a chance to try it, make sure that you do!

heh. I have a couple of those in my fridge now. from World Market I think.
I am a sucker for anything that comes in a jug. Two from Nola which stand out are the Abita Turbo Dog and Dixie Blackened VooDoo Lager.....but I try not to discriminate on beer selection. Its my favorite food group. |

Im a bourbon/whiskey guy so I am not a big beer drinker but my fav is Michelob lager if I am out and order then I get New Castle brown ale. I drink nothing light. I have tried several import or off the wall beers but nothing to show why I should pay more but I did like Red Stripe.

WooHoo! This is my thread.
I used to drink Bud only until I went to Germany a few months ago. The beer over there is soooo good! Just like STBumpkin has been saying, unpasturized beer is the bomb. I never drank so much in my life on that trip and never felt like s**t. It opened my eyes to all the variety of beer, light and dark. Now when I go get beer I get something different everytime. I've tried; Sam Adams - good Fat Tire - ok Spatan Optimator - really good Hobgoblin - Really Really good, my favorite so far Ayinger Altbairisch Dunkel - pretty good Ettaler Curator - good St. Paulie Girl - good St. Paulie Girl Special Dark - Better Pilsner Urquell - ok Shiner Bock - ok Leinenkugel Red - good, but better on draft Dos XX - really good Dos XX Amber - really good I've had a few others, but can't remember what exactly they were. With the ones listed above I saved a bottle of each kind and will continue to do that as long as the wife lets me. Good beers can come in green bottles, but its risky. Green bottles allowing in bad light that makes the beer skunky. One time it may be skunky and other times its great. I've been doing a lot of research on homebrew. I just need to get the equipment now so I can get started. Beer Beer Beer....I love Beer... |

So many good brews out there and so little time but here's a few. The Telluride Blue's and Brews Festival is great place to go try them all out (for free).

Snake River Brewery's Zonker Stout is my all time favorite beer.
http://www.snakeriverbrewing.com/tap.html I also really enjoy Sam Adam's Summer Ale, and Newcastle Brown Ale, and Red Stripe. Another tasty beer is Pete's Wicked Strawberry Blonde, surprisingly good. Of course I'll pretty much drink anything although I try really really hard to avoid the family of Budweiser beers and heineken. The greatest scam out there? Corona as a premium beer, that is the worst beer ever. What a great thread! |

My Dad started homebrewing last year and he has made 3 or 4 batches that would easily make my top five list along with Zonker.
Homebrew is very tasty. I'm looking to buy my own kit in the near future. |

I remember when O'dells only sold Sunshine Wheat during the Summer, early Fall months. I think that due to Wheat beer's popularity, it started making sense to sell it year 'round. |

Sam adams (boston lager) and Samual Smith (nut brown) are my favorites but my brother inlaw brews his own and is very talented and are about 11% and tasty.
