I found the 6mm was a great "starter" rifle for kids. Actually it was my first rifle and I used it for deer. I'll hold onto it for my son one day. Although the 257 Roberts also fits that bill.

I have a 300WSM also Hotrod....You are going to love it but my guess is your probably already do.
I may just have to pull her out today and knock a hole in the pond. The fish need to breath ya know! Hey wait a second...why is this in off topics all of a sudden. Weren't we in offseason mode? Sewell I think anyone that is atleast 30 years or more old has a gun gone bad story. I had a friend knock his head off by accident. I've also had friends fall off cliffs, get run over, stabbed, you name it. To me there is simply no greater joy than walking the wilderness of the Rocky Mountains with the anticipation of even seeing a wild elk in the distance. It's not even about shooting one to me. I'd have to say it's probably a better rush than being apart of the 12th man in a 4th quarter snowy game @ Mile High and there isn't a whole lot in life that I enjoy that much. In my opinion, if you start limiting the right of people to purchase and carry firearms, then you are just disarming the law abiding public. If Joe Crackhead wants to use his gun to kill some gas station attendant, he's generally not gonna give a rat's behind that it's illegal for him to have that gun. |

I gotta admit, I'm pretty disappointed that this thread was put on the off-topics forum, especially when it's offseason mode and lots of other off topic stuff is on the main board.

I am too. I'm not even that into firearms, but it's a good thread, this baby grew quickly.

Who moved it? Atleast an explanation would be reasonable. What does off-season mode really mean then? |

The political issue of gun control should have placed this in the political forum, not the off-topic forum. However, that's just my opinion...

Well, this thread wasn't started with the intention of discussing gun control at all, but rather to share my interest with fellow gun owners. Unfortunately, it took a brief turn to the political side.

In scottsdale they are hungry enough to carry off your pets and even attack children. I see them all the time on the 101, TPC SDL, all over scottsdale road to tempe, and even have seen them on the 51 close to down town. Do they still have bountys on them in CO or Wyoming?

I guess the anti-American nancy boys work is done now that hes ruined this thread.
Meck- I've yet to even fire the new 300 WSM. I've been busy as heck lately. Heck I just got the scope mounted a while back. Also I'm to damn cheap/stuborn to pay to shoot at the local gun range. I think its like 150 bucks for a membership and I just cant see spending that when 9 months a year I can just drive out in the sticks and shoot for free. I am sure that once I get her cranked up she'll become my rifle of choice. Everyone- Does anyone own a 45/70? I almost bought the alaskan guide 45/70. Little short sucker prolly kicks like a mule and the limited range swayed me towards the 300 WSM. Still thinking about picking one up thou incase I ever get attacked my a wild elephant or something ![]() |

Anyone do their own reloading? Dad and me used to but he does not shoot as much as he used to. The price of the 300 WSM ammo is making me consider getting back into reloading. Anyone with experiance lately know if its cost/time effective?
