I've never shot the PT-99, but I loved the quality and feel of the PT-100. I imagine there would not be any difference between the 2 guns except for the fact they fire different rounds. I've read 3 different reviews on the PT-100 in different gun mags, and they have all been extremely positive reviews.
Are you considering buying the PT-99? |

It's a great gun, especially for how cheap they are down here. As I mentioned earlier, the PT-100 down here goes for about $380 brand new and it's definetly a great quality gun.
If I was you, I'd just go ahead and get the .40 cal version. |

I don't own them, but I did shoot a Beretta 92 and it was a nice gun. Same as a Taurus PT-100 except for a few small differences. I also shot a H&K USP 40 (civilian version of the Mark 23 carried by Navy SEALS) and it's a great gun, but it's bulky.

As a trucker , I cant carry firearms in my rig , so I have learned other ways to protect myself , I have gone into NYC, LA , Houston , Miami without any kind of weapons and multi million dollars worth of goods , the only thing keeping criminals from the loot was me ......... several things you can do to keep yourself safe ...........
1 method crooks like to use is ether , spray in your air vents while you are sleeping , one way to avoid this is park in good lighting , and where alot of people are ........ second way is when you get lost , they act as if they are giving directions .... Keep a safe distance don't let people get to close , if you are lost head to a business , get help there .......... and fit in , if you act the victim , you will be a victim ....... Cowboy hat , Belt Buckle , boots in New york and LA = might as well wear a sign saying rob me cause I am a Idiot ..... if someone tries to force you in a car at gun point , dont get in, no matter what ........ if it comes right dow to violence , remember you can build muscle anywhere except , Knee, Nose , Balls , Ankles , front of the throat , these are weak spots on anyone , go for them ............. |

BTW I was joking...I think guns are ****ing pointless unless you are A) a soldier or B) a law enforcement officer. Allowing civilians to own guns is completely unnecessary and propagates violence in this country. Just look at the statistics for violent crime in countries that do not permit civilian ownership.

9mm with +p is plenty for a human which are thinned skin. Shot placement is alot more important than the caliber. You can poorly place 44 mag and the person won't drop instantly and can kill you. Place bullet in the vitals even with a .22 and they will go down quite easily.

Off-season mode Rascal...people want to put a gun thread on the main board I can talk about whatever the **** I want. What if there are kids under 18 viewing this thread who think having a gun is a good thing when I don't think it is? I have every right to express my opinion on guns.

Are Canada's gun laws effective? Here are some figures from the Canadian Firearms Centre: * There are an estimated 7.4 million firearms in Canada, about 1.2 million of which are restricted firearms (mostly handguns). In the U.S., there are approximately 222 million firearms; 76 million of the firearms in circulation are handguns. * For 1987-96, on average, 65% of homicides in the U.S. involved firearms, compared to 32% for Canada * For 1987-96, the average firearm homicide rate was 5.7 per 100,000 in the U.S., compared to 0.7 per 100,000 for Canada. * For 1989-95, the average handgun homicide rate was 4.8 per 100,000 in the U.S., compared to 0.3 per 100,000 for Canada. Handguns were involved in more than half (52%) of the homicides in the U.S., compared to 14% in Canada. * For 1989-95, the average non-firearm homicide rate was 3.1 per 100,000 people in the U.S., compared to 1.6 per 100,000 for Canada. |
