I know we got quite a few firearm owners here, so here is a thread where we can talk about our guns, mods and so forth.
Right now I own a Llama .380 that was my dad's old gun. Mine looks just like this except it's the standard blue finish. ![]() Since our police academy is at the community college, we have to bring our own firearms, so I will be purchasing this replica of the Beretta 92 made by Taurus. Mine will be chambered for the .40 S&W round. ![]() The agency I am going to apply to uses the Glock 21 .45 ACP as it's standard issue weapon. ![]() When I have the money, I will buy this Sig Sauer 226 chamber for the .357 sig round. This will be the gun I carry while on patrol. ![]() The agency I will be applying to also recently allowed it's deputies to carry CAR-15 assault rifles in their patrol cars. ![]() |

I carry an HK USP 9mm and love the gun. I have had and shot a lot of glocks and they are a good pistol. I have colt anaconda 44. Benelli SBE, Browning Stalker 300 win mag which I have shot over 10 deer and 5 elk, Ruger target 22-250 probably my favorite to shoot, Browning lever action 22. The above are my most used firearms. I have several collector guns which I don't shoot much.

Those USPs are very nice. My friend has the .40 S&W version and I was very impressed when I shot it. Glocks are definetly quality pistols, but for some reason they just don't "fit" me, which is why I will switch to the Sig 226 when I get out on patrol.

It's a .357 Sig round, which is basically a .40 cal jacket that is bottlenecked down to accept a 9mm bullet. The big advantage to this is that the bottleneck design greatly decreases the chances of the bullet jamming, and depending on the ammo used, muzzle velocities can reach 1,500+ feet per second.

Don't think it takes much of a trick to kill someone. All larger caliber firearms will stop or kill a human being with a well placed shot into a vital organ or the head. You should check the other firearms thread for Alec's favorite weapons (I posted one).

That's why i would like anything bigger than 9mm one doesn't always have time to place a well aimed shot so i would like what ever i hit to be devastating for the recipiant whom dares enter my palace without permission. |

I have several pistols and long rifles. I'm gonna sell 'em all except the SKS and buy a .45 auto. I have an old Winchester Model 88 .308 Winchester lever-action I've owned for 20-some years, turns out it's become a collector's item. It's an old-timer, made when I do not know, sometime between '64 and '73. Some people have a cult thing about the Model 88 I guess.

For the average person, a .40 cal S&W is a good medium between the low recoil of a 9mm and power of a 45 ACP. |

If you can't kill someone with a .38, you shouldn't be allowed to own a pistol of any kind, jmho.
It's all about basic knowledge and, seriously, being taught how to handle and shoot a gun. |

I love my SKS you can keep it over night in a mudhole pry a stuck jeep out with it then beat an insurgent down and the weapon will still shoot flawlessly. |
