Default Cable Internet?! Bull****

We've had Qwest DSL and DirecTV for years ... but those Comcast $99 a month (33+33+33) commercials just goaded me to switch after Sunday Ticket ended. In addition to saving $80 a month on the three, I was looking forward to fast cable internet.

HORSE-HOCKEY!

This is the - s l o w e s t - non-dialup internet I've ever experienced! It takes 45-60 seconds to load up one OM page (the avatars come last). Even at 3 a.m., it's still ridiculously slow. Funny part is, it was FAST the first 3 or 4 days - but it s-l-o-w-e-d on the 1st.

I don't know what the problem is, but I grow weary of screaming at my monitor I though Qwest DSL was slow (we're a long way from the telephone center), but this! This is unacceptable.

Anybody have any info on this?

Okay, I'm going to press "Submit New Thread" now .... this might take a minute ... bear with me ...

___

PS: As far as TV .... after 9 years, I'm still punching DirecTV channel numbers into the cable ... 356, 212, 501, 645, etc.... but slowly I'm figuring it out. Comcast actually has tons of free On-Demand stuff, too. I've watched Midnight Cowboy, Air Force One, Fargo and several things free, with pause and rewind, etc. That said, we were planning to sign up DirecTV again next fall for the games - but under my gf's name so we can get that intro package: 4 months free - all premium channels - when you buy Sunday Ticket (new subscribers only).

Something's weird, cause my numbers are incrementally higher than yours, §pider .... but my load is so slow that sometimes the browser just gives up before it displays the entire page. I just visited an autograph photo site (Lance Rentzel), and it gave up on the page before it finished loading. Very strange....

That doesn't shock me. My sister has cable in Washington and I thought it was slower than my dial-up ever was!

I have cable internet at home and it's great! No low speeds at all...well, except when my computer has tooooooo many programs open! haha..

I'd call the provider and tell them what's going on.

I have that same Comcast package (phone, internet, cable) and my internet speed is whooooooooooooooooosh fast. I did that speakeasy test just the other day and of course I can't remember what my speeds were but they were way faster than yours.

Have you hollered at Comcast?

I don't know Buff my numbers were a little lower than yours 6531 down and 353 up, but my connection is crazy fast. Since you live in civilization, you'll probably get Verizon FIOS in the next couple of years.
