Iam looking at the list and see band names i have never even heard of ( i understand you listen to a different breed of metal though than i did) but yet i see judas priest/slayer/pantera/Anthrax so the list basically excludes everything prior to judas priest/slayer/pantera/Anthrax? (it does say all time) it seems the 70s are being totally over looked. Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Thin Lizzy, Uriah Heep, Nazareth, Angel, Motorhead ect they laid the road for the bands i listed.

Although they were heavy influences on the modern generation of metal i consider a lot of those " rock " as opposed to metal. Not only that but this list is according to me so you have to take that with a grain of salt. Not everyone will agree on my list.

Since I havent heard of most those bands....

I would have to push up Dream Theatre and Lamb of God higher on the list.

While it's true that I largely turned my back on metal a long time ago, there's one thing I just don't get here...Seasons In The Abyss over Reign In Blood? Not really the call I would've made but it's all good.

Good list, and I havee to chime in on this with my own personal taste and see what you think, anubis.

Hatebreed - The rise of burtality
Killswitch engage - End of heartache
Mudvayne - L.D. 50

Those 3 would definitely be on my list, and great call with In flames - colony. That CD has been lost it seems, with reroute to remain and soundtrack to your escape being the more popular CD's(although their newest CD, come clarity, is awesome.)

All different tastes, Killswitch is one of my favorite bands right now, just got their new CD "As daylight dies," and it's pretty awesome.

L.D. 50 is Mudvayne's first CD(Dig, Death Blooms, Nothing to gein etc.) and it is their hardest CD of the 3 they have out. Their other CD's are good, but their are songs on it that are made for radio/popularity(A world so cold, Happy?), while L.D. 50 is just straight up metal every single song.

No band anymore, just a drummer needing a home. We all went our seperate ways(one on 3rd shift, me with my gf into an apartment etc.), and coudn't find the time for everything, so we're still friends and hang out, but no music anymore.

I also didn't see any susperia up there, what gives?
