According to many on this board (me not included), Mike Shanahan never really meant what he said when he stated "I am putting Jay Cutler in because he gives us the best chance to win now". Instead, many are claiming that what he really meant, is that even though the Broncos were in the playoff race, he was pulling the plug on the season, so he can get the rook some practice for next year.
If you are foolish enough to subscibe to this theory, what does that say to vets like Rod Smith? Who here would want to play for a coach like that? One that asks you to play hard no matter what happens around you. Then yanks the rug on you and quits during a playoff run? IMO, Shanny meant exacly what he said. He put Cutler in to win now. That only makes him stupid. However, if he was lying to the team that puts it on the line for him, then that makes him a jackass. Enjoy your waffles. |

Well, Herm said 'you play to win the game' but it seems that all the Chiefs have been playing for is paychecks...How does it feel to be lied to?

“I wouldn’t be bitter if they let me go,” perennial Pro Bowl tight end Tony Gonzalez told me when the locker room cleared out.......
“But right now, to me, winning is more important (than staying in KC),” Gonzalez said. http://www.kansascity.com/mld/kansas...s/16211451.htm |

Speaking of waffles, I tried that Creme Brule French Toast recipe this weekend. Very sweet stuff... Good for a weekend where you might want to satisfy a few sweet tooths for breakfast.

Did you watch any of the games Plummer started? Apparently not. Cutler hasn't played any worse than Plummer was playing before he was benched.

Broncos offense under Plummer: 16.2 points per game
Broncos offense under Cutler: 20.0 points per game Jake Plummer: 1 TD passes per game on average Jay Cutler: 2 TD passes per game on average Tell me again how Cutler isn't outperforming Plummer and how he isn't giving them a better chance to win right now. It's high comedy, but then your endless hard on for Shanahan always has been. |

You know what I like? Pulled pork sammiches. What's even better is to pile southern-style slaw on them.
I'm just saying it because I had one yesterday, and I haven't been able to stop thinking about it. Mmmmm. |
