SIX!!!
I fully expect Shanny to take advantage of his new QB and the defense thinking/believing we will call an "easy" play for his first NFL pass. With everyone expecting something "easy" to break the ice, I think we set up a double move and Cutler lets one fly! The defender will bite thinking it's the "easy" play that we want to start the rookie on. The stars are aligning as we speak!!! |

Probably not, it's more likely that if he throws the ball forty yds it will be incomplete or intercepted. |

See, that's what I'm saying. Everybody is thinking something easy. A comeback route. A quick slant or screen pass. EVERYBODY IS EXPECTING SOMETHING EASY! It will be a pass down field, it will be completed, and it will go for 6!!!

I don't know about it going for a touchdown, or even a completion for that matter. But I really think we will go deep on Cutler's first pass. As long as it's not intercepted it would be the perfect first play to loosen the kid up and shake off the nerves. JMO

Hope it's a deep ball to Walker. It's going to be hard for Jay to top Griese's first Bronco pass (td to Ed McCaffery vs Miami in the opener).
Speaking of that Miami opener, Shanahan on a radio interview today on KKFN said in retrospect he should have started Bubby that game and that season. But he has no second thoughts about starting Cutler this week. |

After discussing Cutler at some length with the local talent, I feel like his 1st pass will go for...... waffles. Either waffles or french toast. Definately no peanut butter on either, as thats for sissies.

The first pass Griese throw was streak to smith for the TD against the Dolphins. I expect for Dinger and Shanahan to come out aggressive against Seattle.

It'll depend on what they do. I suspect they'll be expecting the run and therefore do what they've done to us all season: Load the box and man-up.

I was actually thinking the same thing yesterday, thinking back to the Redskins Superbowl, when we let one fly for a touchdown.

Question about what this board might look like after the game: I think it will be ecstatic, regardless of the outcome. Mainly, I look for the team to have good moments and bad moments. I am looking for Champ to have a game, and I would hope Williams or Foxworth would sneak in an INT on Hasslesbeck. There is entirely too much being placed on the play of the Rookie, and it would behoove us to remember that there are other players on that team. If anythijng else, I would think Walker would be able to outjump Herndon and maybe that will be the main plan of attack.
Remember: Cutler can do not worse than jake, and that means there will be enough chances for completions. Doesn't it? |

I would actually start out with a flea flicker. Let them think it's a run and kick it back to Plummer........doh, I mean Jay, and let him hit Walker on a double move for a quick 6 and the fast lead. Yeah baby. Go get em Jay!

It will probably be a slant that winds up 40yrds down field as an incomplete. The kid will be fired up and the cannon will unload too fast.

0 yards. I think we will take a shot, but I also believe that Cutler will be a tad bit too hyped and will slightly overshoot Javon. He will be pressing a little bit on his first throw, IMO, and will slightly overthrow Javon. While we will all leap up and then say "damn!" his pass will be a welcome relief, as it is a perfect spiral, and actually overthrown vs. horribly underthrown.
Then on 2nd down, we will run for 2 yards, followed by a slant for 9 on third down. And we're off. |

I've been saying this since they announced he was starting!
First pass will be a long throw to Walker. I don't know what will happen, but that's the call. ![]() |

How about have plummer line up under center split cutler out, throw wr screen pass so its a lateral and Cutler can let it fly deep to I would say a wr but Denver seems to throw gimmicks to TE. Problem is Plummer would have to get the ball to cutler.

Personally I would throw a long one to Marshall as Sea will sit on Walker, 3 wr and deep to Marshall, infact I think Marshall/Kircus will be key in pass game.
