A mean streak?
The only guy that realistically has the size to maul/pancake DL is Foster and he's not doing it. Not sure how a 280 lb Guard or C is supposed to body slam bigger DL. They're plenty mean considering they play on the edges of unwritten football rules regarding cut blocking. Last edited by fontaine; 11-24-2006 at 08:59 AM.. |

The loss of Lepsis hurt us more than people think.

Keep in mind that McNeil of the Chargers was also playing with two broken hands in that clip which makes him even more nasty.
I think our line will be fine. I really like Pears, I think he and Meadows should vie for the starting RT position next year. Lepsis will come back and man the LT. I think it is not unreasonable to think that Kuper CAN win the RG spot and then Ham and Nails at the C and LG positions. We'll be fine on the OLine, it just sucks to know that Foster is a piece of crap. That is what you get though when you draft a guy who had 6 or 7 career starts on the offensive line. Tenacity is not something that is developed... usually a player already has it or not. FOSTER never had it. Not at George, definitely not in Denver. |

That slam would not be that hard. Like a wwf move. Watch the clip. EE jumps to block the pass. This allows the LT to get under him.

Someone watch Foster in that game last night. I could swear whenever Jake would drop back in 5 or 7 steps, he didnt have any time because Hali was on his ass the whole game. 3 step drops were the only time Foster didn't let his man by him in pass protection.
The guy is horrible. Hopefully will play in 10 days or Cutler is gonna be screwed. |

Not to excuse Foster's failures, but a bunch of us predicted Hali would be an excellent defensive lineman. That was the guy I wanted us to draft before all the tradeups.

Not that I care to watch Mullet games, but Id like to see what he does against a competent RT. I know this...the guy was lookin like Taylor out there last night.

This whole team needs a mean streak right now. The D had one earlier in the season.

Hali brings it... Foster does not. Bad situation for us.
You would think a guy playing for his job would play a little harder or better... NOPE! |

I think Foster showed his heart last night: i.e., that he completely lacks one. Guy gets a little more than a game to watch and get real pissed that he got benched, get a chance to come back and redeem himself, and comes in and plays with less intensity than he did before he got benched.

Add to the wish list a D-Tackle with one of those mean streaks, as well.

We should have signed Rod Coleman when we had a chance to. That guy had a mean streak and has played well for the Falcons through his first two years there.
Foster is a bust. It is worst when you consider LJ, who ran all over us yesterday and basically every game he has started against us, was drafted 7 spots after George Foster. (By the way, never draft a OT who has knock knees!) Other plays we could have had besides LJ: Willis McGahee, Anquan Boldin, Pisa Tinoisamoa, LJ Smith, Dewayne White, Jason Witten, Angelo Crowell, |

How about Tommie Harris? We would have had to bump up a few spots, but that's a guy we were in range to get. Don't get me started on all the d-line talent we've passed on for second rate CBs, WRs and other various washouts. |

there were some black years in drafting from about 1999 to 2003, very very strange occurences.
George Foster is just another in the long line of busted "talent" that was drafted that year I'm just glad people finally realize what those of us who have seen it for 2 years saw ![]() Foster sucks |
