Default Jake's performance product of not being tested

This is by no means a Jake hater thread b/c we are all tired of those, and personally I like him as a person. However, I just wanted to point out that his recent success in these last two weeks boils down to two things (Indy - running game effective, Pitt - jumped out to 14-0 lead). I think the important thing to realize is that Jake is Jake - and for some reason people are quickly thinking he is all the sudden capable of winning big games.

Indy game - effective b/c the running game was successful, thus allowing him to boot and get out onto the edge. Furthermore, he was rarely placed in a tough 3rd and long situation.

Pitt game - he was playing from ahead the entire game, which as we know jake with a lead is much much different than jake from behind.

finally, there have been several moments in both games where he was fortunate balls weren't picked; he has continued to struggle from the pocket as he always does. He has not changed and never will - therefore we need to enjoy this season b/c it will be successful, but ultimately know deep down inside that we will never win a super bowl with plummer at the healm - boiling it down - do not get a false sense of hope thinking this team can win the big one - b/c jake will sh** and piss his pants when the pressure game arises. "ZEBRAS DO NOT CHANGE THEIR STRIPES."

He didn't have a 14-0 lead either did he? you give shanahan that kind of lead it's going to be hard to beat the Denver Broncos

Yeah he's halfway through the season and has not been tested. I am sure he was very comfortable playing with a 4 point lead at Pittsburgh also. For you information 100 percent of Qb's at sometime during their games on Sunday almost throw picks.

how did he get that 14 pt lead? "hasn't won the big one" is true of everyone until they win the big one. also, your odds of being right on this are very good, since only 1 QB a year out of 32 can win the big one. that's what sports is all about, you go with your guys against the other guys to win it all. i sure would not wanted to ever have you for a team mate. "We can't", "it's no use", "it could never happen", "it's impossible to win" - geez, get off my team would be my response to you.

First of all buddy, i am not down on this team nor am i pessimistic. I think i have a better understanding of reality than you may - probably because despite me loving the this franchise as much as you - I am able to remove my personal bias and look at things objectively with common sense. Secondly, the big one does not just refer to the superbowl - it is a term that I used referring to any big pressure game, whether that be regular season or post season. Deep down inside, though you would never get it out of them, if you asked the experienced veterans on this team if they truly felt Jake could lead this team to a superbowl, they would say no.

Looking back at the 98 season, we had a hell of a running game and always played with a lead.....I guess that means Elway sucked and couldn't win the big one. Great logic.

Yeah, that is painfully obvious. Next time you might want to try and not remove all doubt...

And you call this looking at things "objectively"?!? That statement is the very essence of looking at something and giving a subjective opinion. Unbelievable.

I'm really just sorry I wasted my 30 seconds of time on this.....

yes, we are buddies and fellow bronco fans. according to your conviction regarding all the exp. vets on this team, are you saying they all knew before the Pitt game last year they were going to lose since they all knew in their heart, no way can jake get us to the SB, they must have all surrendered to fate? no wonder the D couldn't stop one 3rd down!

Well, cool then. It's settled. Gain leads on teams and don't collapse out of the gate on defense and put our offense in 14-30 point **** holes in the first half of big games........... and we'll never lose.

There, that was easy.

I've been down on Jake early this year as well, but to say this after he has led us to consecutive playoff appearances the past three years is simply absurd. Do you have inside information you're basing this on? Are you inside the locker room with the players? Because if I were to guess about their feelings, I would probably think they feel the same as I do, that while they were dissapointed in Jake's performance early, they are confident he has the talent to lead this team to the AFCCG again and possibly beyond. He does not need to be the Hero that Elway was because we have so much talent at most of the other positions now.

you guys can bash me all you want, b/c you are entitled to your opinions as am I and I honestly do respect them - I am not trying to be a prick here, just trying to give an opinion which was clearly jumped on. All I can say is in the end, we will see if Jake is as great as you deem him to be. I'll remember this thread and at the conclusion of his career, we'll see who was right.

I'll tell you this much n00b... you do not have adopt-a-bronc rights to Al Wilson. He's mine... you never asked for co-adoptee rights.... nor would I have granted them to you. Also, see the 100 post rule.

Until 1997, you could have said that Elway will never win the big one. Also, we are not in that game, so why do you even worry? Enjoy the season as it unfolds. Its raiders week.

Well first off you come in flaming up the board with a redundantly redundant retarded thread... then you claim my adoptee. Maybe you should look at the 2006 adopt a bronc thread, to see how it works... or just be an asshat.
