A buddy of mine just introduced me to Borat the other day via some YouTube clips. Maybe it was just because I was stoned off my ass, but I couldn't stop laughing. This movie will rule.

I just saw a little of him in a news spot about how the Abua*****stan, or WTF, people were pissed at him. Looks like fun to me, but no one ever accuse me of being politically correct.

This group of German gypsies wants to sue him, too. Shouldn't gypsies be used to people talking bad about them by now?

There are still gypsies in this country today. My buddy is a customer service manager at a casino in town and he said dealing with gypsies is the worst part of his job.

I once made a terrible error. I don't remember who it was, or where it was... But I was talking to someone about an incident I had in which I was "jipped." You know, "ripped off." He levels his stare and says, "not cool man, I'm part Gypsie." At which point it dawned on me that "jipped" is actually "gypped."

I just said, "sorry man, I had no idea the root of that word. I didn't mean anything." I felt pretty stupid about it.

For some reason, I never watched Ali G, even though I've always had HBO - to be honest (and red-faced) I didn't even know it was a character.

Monday is an HBO "Ali G" Marathon - they're showing every episode.

Borat is number 1.

Weekend Estimates: Borat Have Most Excellent Weekend
Borat did this weekend what Snakes on a Plane failed to achieve earlier in the Summer -- turn huge internet buzz into a great weekend. The comedy topped the weekend charts with a very respectable $26.4 million from a very modest 837 theaters. That's the biggest weekend ever for a movie playing in less than 1,000 theaters, beating the $23,920,637 earned by Fahrenheit 9/11 in 2004. Needless to say, Fox will be aggressively expanding the movie next weekend.

Second place was taken by The Santa Clause 3, with a slightly disappointing $20 million. Flushed Away opened with $19.1 million, about in line with expectations.

You should watch the movie Ali G inda house... it's frigging hilarious .. it has so many memorable quotes. In fact, I think I'm going to watch it right now, haven't seen it in years.

Did you see his interview with Becks and his spice girl? That's great as well

No ... in fact, just tonight (Monday) I saw my first 4 or 5 "Ali G" episodes ever ... completely hilarious. Incredible guests the guy gets! Brent Scowcroft, Pat Buchanan, Marlin Fitzwater ... his gay Austrian character even joined the Alabama Crimson Tide cheerleaders DURING A FOOTBALL GAME! Some of the 'Bama hicks in the stands were giving him the finger and hollerin that he "should be ashamed of himself." Funny stuff...

Some of the Borat segments from those '03 and '04 Ali G episodes are the identical footage in the current movie trailers ... what's up with that?

I was laughing uncontrollably when Ali G interviewed a farm veterinarian with his animals in a barnyard. The poor bastard just didn't get it ...
Ali G:: So why are there so many sick animals in Vietnam?
Vet: What do you mean?
Ali G: Well, there must be thousands of Vietnam vets around.
Vet: No, no! Those are soldiers who went to Vietnam.
Ali G: To help the animals there?
Vet: No ... they went to fight a war there, they are war vets.
Ali G: They had animals fighting their war?
Vet: No, NO! Listen! They are VETERANS of that war, from the ARMY.
Ali G: They joined the Army to become veterinarians?
Damn, it was so funny .... the old guy didn't know he was being 'punked.'

BTW: The HBO "Da Ali G Show" Marathon continues Tuesday night!

Get the movie.. it's completely different.. but funny as hell.

As I didn't even see any trailers of Borat yet I can't comment. But I have a DVD Ali G - Bling Bling which includes 14 Episodes of Borat, and many of them play in the US, so I figure he used that footage for the movie.

Are you sure it's 14 episodes?

Because HBO is promoting this two-night "Ali G" Marathon as including "All 12 epsiodes of the two seasons of the show."

No biggie ... the Borat part that's lifted from the "Ali G' show is when he asks the Alabama dining guy if he "likes porn?" ... and the guy reacts like Borat is nuts (the reaction shot is from later in the scene actually).

"Ali G in da House" huh?
