Looks like that snow game last Saturday took a lot out of both teams. Good thing for Texas they had enough to come back.

Callahan has been getting blown out on the road since he got here. Mizzou is at home, so we have a pretty good chance. Today showed NU wasn't as talented/good as many of us had though, but we still have a great shot at winning the North and playing a Texas team we know we can hang with. Bad loss today, but I think it was largely a result of our lack of speed on defense, which we will have to address through recruiting.

OK, in the midst of all of this I have a serious question. I didn't watch this game and only read the recap on ESPN.com yesterday. But when NU scored to go up 16-0, it appears that Calahan went for 2 instead of kicking the PAT. Someone want to explain this to me?

We had a bad snap and missed the extra point. I can't say that I remember us going for two though.

I'm sort of an OK State fan... I did graduate from OSU-Med so I suppose that I'm obligated... but usually I'm a fan of anything anti-OU.

That said... you guys are not giving any credit to OK State. It was 16-0 right out of the gate, but 14 points directly off turnovers. From that point, I think they went on a 41-7 turnaround. Bobby Reid played a hell of a game. There is some serious talent at their skill positions.. and those recievers do a great job in run-support with downfield blocking.

I can't wait to watch them play OU.

There's no doubt they have talent. There offense was pretty unstoppable all game, except for the turnovers. Still, there is no excuse for us to not score more in the second half on their defense. This game reminded me a lot of the KU game. We blew a big lead and suffered a second half offensive collapse in that one too. The difference this week was that OSU has more talent than KU and finished the comeback. Okie State could be an interesting program over the next few years. Gundy seems to have a few good things going, and their new Boone Pickins sponsered addition will put them up there with Nebraska, Texas, and OU in facilities. I'm guessing this years OSU team will surprise someone else as well.

I've admitted K-State sucks, we'll be lucky to get a bowl game. What I find amusing is exactly what I said .."order is restored".

I can't either. Especially with OU's defense bringing the wood as of late.

OSU's offense is top notch. Their defense is suspect. With that said...They shut you guys down in the second half.

On a personal note, I like NU fans. I think they are for the most part classy, and really know the game of football. On the other hand, I know every school has thier set of tards and I'll just toss 4life in that category.

Well, it is obvious now that many people were to quick to say that Nebraska is "back." We still have a great chance to win the North, but we'll need a better defense before we are going to be an elite team again. I hate to say it, but our front seven were grossly overrated coming into this season. Carriker is a great player, but as a whole they still got overwhelmed on saturday. The offense needs to be more consistent, but I think our improved run game this season has us on a very good path. On a positive note, at least we aren't Iowa State. Many people picked them to win the North, and they are getting hammered by everyone.

While I don't want to make alot of excuses for this team, our CB position is horrible right now. You know you are in bad shape when even the WR that you converted to CB goes down for the year.

http://nebraska.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=599868

4 star DB Ross is 80% sure he will be a 'sker next year.

4/3 star LB Brandon Herron is a soft commit as well

http://nebraska.rivals.com/viewprosp...p?pr_key=49402

5 star CB Woodny Turenne is set to visit NU this week.

Good deal, we need some help at the CB position. Wasn't Herron soft committed to CU earlier?

I can't tell you about Herron really. I just got it off another board that he said on the Big Red Wrap Up that when its all said and done he will be a Husker.

We should land another 4 star Juco DB. He played at the same college as Bowman and his coach said that he is better then Bowman.

Article from Mitch Sherman in the OWH http://www.omaha.com/index.php?u_pg=38&u_sid=2254555

Highlights:

Still, it's a bit startling to hear John O'Mera, coach at Eastern Arizona College, compare his former star cornerback, Zack Bowman, to current sophomore Armando Murillo, who visited Nebraska for last weekend's game with Kansas.

"Armando's better than Zack," O'Mera said. "Just based on pure playing ability, Armando is way ahead of him."

But O'Mera, who remains in contact with Bowman after coaching him at the New Mexico Military Institute in 2003 and 2004, said Murillo will adjust more easily after junior college.

Asked about the weekend visit, during which he spent considerable time with Bowman, Murillo said: "I'll start off by telling you that I love it there."

"The coaches, the faculty, the facilities, the team, they were all great," Murillo said. "I was signing autographs before the game. They told me that was going to happen, but I couldn't believe it."

So enamored was Murillo with his trip to Lincoln that he nearly committed on the spot and canceled all other visits. "I was tempted," he said.

For now, he said, he plans to take a look at Arizona State next month and then decide.

"I think Armando wants to be a Husker," O'Mera said. "I would look for him to maybe take that one other visit and then commit to Nebraska."

Im not sure about the 5 star DB, he has some pretty good colleges he still has to go visit.

This is the guy that Deion Sanders is the guardian of. From what I've read he's really been pushing him to go to NU but I've also seen that he won't qualify.

Also here is the list of players that we have offers to, and it also says if they are high, med, or low.

http://scout.scout.com/a.z?s=204&p=9&c=4&yr=2007

4 star MLB Travis Lewis has us as high.

http://scout.scout.com/a.z?s=204&p=8&c=1&nid=2407946

It seems we are doing a pretty good job in TX, CA, and FL this year.

Nice win today. Puts us in control of the North, which is a big step for the team. I know a lot of people were thinking we might get back into the elite this year, but you can't forget it has been seven years since we won the North. We have to take this one step at a time, and this hopefully is the first one. We had plenty of dumb mistakes in the second half, but we got it done. Next week at A&M should be a really good game. Hopefully we can have the division wrapped up heading into our Colorado matchup. GBR!
