If they were smart animals, they all would migrate to Boulder and be a protected species...

A few years back some douche bag in the up at Malmstrom (AF base in Great Falls) decided, hey, I live in Montana now (I think he was from New York) so I am going hunting. The idiot goes out and shoots what he thought was his first deer, dresses it out and then takes it to a game processor. The butcher looks at him and asks if this is a ****ing joke, the kid says no why? The butcher tells him, we dont process llamas! The ****ing idiot shot a damn llama!

We hear stuff like that all of the time - cattle, horses and mules thought to be elk.

Goats, sheep and dogs thought to be deer.

Everyone blames the Texans, but I am sure the goats and sheep must be KC fans.

Amen Hotrod...I refer to them as "****ing a-holes" myself. Two years ago we had some Minnesota idiots below our camp. They decided on day two to open up their rifles over our campsite. We had a high powered round go "Thwack" in a tree less than 15 feet above our tent.

Their exuse " We though your camp was a bit futher over".

That's when tires mysteriously become slashed and vehicles become inoperable.

That happened to me once, someone slashed the tires on my quad and took my fishing gear. Brought the fishing gear because I was there in Wyoming 2 days before the season opened so I would fly fish when Im done scouting for Deer.

I just heard something that may be of interest to Colorado hunters.

The DOW has just contracted with a company that uses dogs to find exposives and drugs to help capture poachers. I have seen these dogs work. They can find a 22 buried a foot in the ground. As I understand it the DOW can get about a 98% conviction rate for poachers if they can find the gun. Poachers usually stash the guns when they find the cops closing in on them, so these dogs will be looking for the stashed guns. For the DOW test, two officers stashed a gun about 15 ft up in a tree. They turned the dogs loose a mile away and they found the gun in less than 10 minutes.

Hope they catch them all.
