Used to carry a bowling pin in the truck of my old Buick. Could do some damage if you took a hit to it in the head.

Currently try to stay out of the ghetto.

being from Britain i dont get the whole gun thing. I know it is your constitutional right to bear arms but i dont think the forefathers had todays gun situations in mind when they wrote that. although i suppose there are just too many illegal guns out there to try to ban/strictly licence for sport etc them. Carrying a gun would never make me feel safe because you know that just about any crazy person could have one and could use it on you or take your gun off you and shoot you with it. Theres some crazy stat about knife attacks over here with 1 in 3 people knifed it was done wityh their own weapon. Gun crime is becoming really big over here and that really worries me, thankfully its not too bad where i live maybe 1-2 shootings a year and they're usually drug related but in Nottingham, England there have been drive bys and a couple of kids have been killed in the crossfire. Since the dunblane masacre its almost immpossible to get a gun legally here which i think isa a good thing but its only a matter of time before there are a lot more illegal firearms in Britain

There is no support for your proposition in the real world. The crime rate, the inappropriate use of guns rate, and the accident rate of folks with CCW permits throughout the country is astonishingly low. Of course, if your argument is "anything, no matter how improbable, could happen", you are of course right. It's just that statements like that should not be guiding public policy.

By way of contrast, an astonishing proportion (I forget the number but I was shocked when I learned it) of women will be raped in their lives, forceably. In this situation, a woman carrying a gun is MUCH more likely to survive and not be raped than one who is not.

The women on this thread who think they will even the odds with fancy kicks or whatever are nuts. If someone decides to rape them, they will be facing a larger and much stronger opponent (no pc here--men's upper body strength is much greater than women's) who will just tackle them (95% of fights between men end up on the ground and a rapist wants things on the ground). It's very hard for a kicker or gouger type to prevent someone from tackling them. And then, on the ground, it is over unless the woman knows some groundfighting techniques. Even with groundfighting knowledge, the strength differential makes it very difficult for the woman.

Even Mace is a pretty thin deterrent. Testing mace has shown that it rarely prevents a determined opponent from tackling the person who maced them and once there, they are really mad. Once on the ground, the Mace is as likely to get the woman as the rapist. It will deter some bad guys; but far from all of them.

Personally, I think the case for a woman carrying is very strong. I think it's optional for men. Normally, bad guys just want our wallets and I would not personally be prepared to kill for my wallet. But it would be a better, safer society if 25% of men were armed and willing to kill for their wallets. A lot fewer wallets would get stolen--so the 75% who don't carry would be a lot safer because of their prepared brethren.

Guns tend to weed out those who are stupid, so you can't help but love them. Indeed they have continued the wonder that is natural selection or in some cases self-inflicted selection (good video TJ! ahaaaahaaa!). If it were not for guns and stupid, I mean really stupid, people using them, we would still have the killings and murders and theft just using a different medium. All of you gun haters need to go watch Miami Vice a few times and grow a sac. Remember guns and stupid don't mix and if they do it typically has a result that is better for mankind anyway.

i have a virginia concealed weapons license. i carry a .380 when circumstances warrant. with training and background checks, responsible adults should be allowed to carry nationwide. why should only criminals get to carry?

Bacterium if you will. It just seems like reptile-associated salmonellosis is a lot more common than people realize. I must have owned at least a hundred lizards when I was a kid, including some iguanas, but I never contracted any illnesses. I guess because I made a point of always washing my hands after I handled those creatures. I imagine all you have to do is touch your nose or rub your eyes and you might become infected.

I'll bet Chad Brown hasn't taken a solid crap in years.

I make this guy dress up like a ten year. Then, when I'm set upon by assailants, I have the surprise element of a midget wrestler to augment my already formidable ass kicking skills. Only on rare occasions am I pinned in public and never by a member of my own sex.

I carried him around in one of these for awhile, but my back hurt like hell at the end of the day. He would also clip me in the nards with his heels and those frigging wrestling shoes are heavy.

I would hate to deny any Raider fans the opportunity to devulge what weapons they are bringing to the game. I am assuming there will be black and silver paper bags with eye holes cut out. Going to look really silly wearing all that Halloween crap this early in the year.
