Same here.

I've been interested in Jungian psychology for many years, so this test always fascinates me.

I first took the Myers-Briggs test about 18 years ago. I was an INTP then, but now I'm an INFJ.

This sort of change in one's test results isn't unusual as people tend to exhaust the development/maximization of their superior function (insofar as people tend to stick to those things they're good at and avoid those things they're not good at or the least good at) and move toward assimilation of their auxillary functions and inferior function as they get older. Note: By "functions" I mean the four operations measured by the test, viz., thinking, feeling, sensation, and intuition.

For a more in-depth look at the theories upon which the test is based, see "Psychotherapy" (Ch: The Inferior Function) by Marie-Louise Von Franz and "Psychological Types" by C.G. Jung.

I studied Jung back in college, but moved away from the whole psych area into a different field, and hadn't looked at any of that stuff in years.

That INTj description absolutely pegged me. I've never seen any psych profile that came so close on so many points.

Well, my tentative conclusions are as follows.

According to random stats, Infj's and Intj's, put together, comprise only about 4% of the US population. Yet, in this totally unscientific survey of the Mane, they make up almost 50% of those responding. (7 out of 15)

In another board I'm on, those two groups make up 90%.

I suspect that those two categories of people tend to be drawn more toward message boards than the other groups, for a variety of reasons.

I don't know if you saw, but I am an Enfj and that isn't reflected in your list here. I don't know if it is but it's a typo, or if you missed it entirely.

Yep. We live in an extroverted culture where introverts are second-class citizens.

I think you all need to be rounded up and reeducated before we have an actual situation on our hands.

Maybe its a subtle hint about how we feel about ENFJs in these parts.

ENTJ

Qualitative analysis of your type formula

You are:
very expressed extrovert

slightly expressed intuitive personality

moderately expressed thinking personality

moderately expressed judging personality

Got one of those yet?

Interestly enough Meyers-Briggs have been given to entire Corporations. Not surprisingly it is true people tend to hire those most like themselves. Typically there are big clusters of certain types of personalities within companies. Not so surprisingly the colleagues who tend to be a challenge are expressed different personality types. Big difference in the type of people in entreprenurial companies and those who rely on research and data studies. This is one of the reasons some of the big mergers between companies have failed.

I was involved in one of those failures. It was simply described as two philosophies - part of the population was like: READY -- FIRE! -- AIM! and the other part was like READY? AIM. AIM... AIM.... AIM.... you could sit in a conference room for 10 minutes and know which side of the fence people had come from. There was seldom middle ground.

I'll recalculate a little later.

As for why it's scary, that has more to do with the other board.
