good for you
![]() Now it's 6 am already.. which means, as soon as I wake up, I will get to watch the GP in Turkey. Great track and Ferrari seem to have a dominating car. Should be able to cut into Alonso's lead a bit more. |

Was a huge Dale Sr fan, so it was natural that Dale Jr filled in after the day that NASCAR died.
DEI all the way and Jeff Gordan can suck a camal. |

DEI blows and has blown for a long time.
Busch championships, that's about all they can hack.On the other racing front, great news for us Bernstein fans. Kenny Bernstein is unretiring to come back and drive a funny car next year. ![]() |

Wow.. that was a great race last Sunday, with the best possible result for my driver.. and that on the day he announced his retirement.. Hollywood couldn't have come up with a better script!!!

I thought about you when I saw that, LH. What a super bummer to have your guy retire. I hate it when my favorites retire. So do you have a new one lined up?

Cool stuff Mt
![]() Yeah, it's a bummer.. though I expected it more or less. But I wanted him to drive one more year, alongside Kimi.. and I wanted him to drive one more time at Spa, as they didn't drive there the last few years but will again next season. The greatest track ever, also the first track he drove on, the track where he got his first win and the only track I've ever been to. I saw him win there 2001. It was awesome. As the last three races are China, Japan and Brazil I don't have a chance anymore to see him racing live. For the first time since 84 I will be without a driver I'm really cheering for. I like several drivers, but none of them will be able to replace him. I think I'll be on Kimi's side. And I will certainly support the remaining German drivers, especially Nico Rosberg and Nick Heidfeld and to a much lesser degree Ralf Schumacher. Sebastian Vettel, who was a BMW test driver the last two Fridays on racing weekends seems to have a lot of potential. Nico will be my favorite though. Next year will also be exciting as Lewis Hamilton , the new GP2 champion will probably enter F1 with McLaren Mercedes. An awesome talent.. add to that the first ever black driver in F1. Will he be the Tiger Woods (who actually said that Michael Schumacher is the best active athlete in the world ) of racing ? Heikki Kovalainen is also a great talent, will race for Renault next year. What's up with those Finns? Racing talent seems to be in their genes. And then Nelson Piquet Jr. should also enter F1 soon. He's the son of former 3 time champion Nelson Piquet. I didn't like his father, and I don't like him either. He will be my next driver to absolutely root against Actually I think I could even start to hate him. Don't know why, but maybe because I have the impression that he's the ultimate spoiled brat.Last edited by LordHelmchen; 09-16-2006 at 10:24 AM.. |

Oh come on! You have to have a fave. I know it's not the same, but you still have to have one!
It's funny to hear you talk of who's who and rivalries and someone's dad you didn't like so you won't like him either. Its just like the rest of us! I was pleased with the overall result of the first race in the Chase today. Jeff came home third. Unfortunately that ****er, Harvick won. Ugh. Oh well, we're starting out on a good note. Drag racing got rained out the whole damned weeked this weekend. That blew. |

oh, I will have one again....just not 100% sure who it will be
![]() and today's race was simply amazing, after the qualifying yesterday in which MS finished 6th, a remarkable feat considering he was heavily disadvantaged with the Bridgestone tyres in the rain, I was reasonably expecting him finishing in 3rd place at the very, very best. To go on and win the race... wow. The championship is now tied at 116 points each , with 2 races to go. It doesn't get any better than that ![]() |

Congrats on your driver, LH. I saw he won. Mine didn't fare so well this weekend and took a HUGE hit in the Championship chase. On to Talladega, which I usually just love....now I'm just worried.

I´m not Schumi´s biggest fan, but he deserved a better ending to his career than this. He was leading the race when his engine blew up 16 laps before the end ... Alonso went on to win the race and how has a 10 point lead with 1 race to go. The only chance he still has is to win the Brazilian Grand Prix and hope Alonso doesn´t finish at all or doesn´t finish in the points ...

I feel for you then, LH. Jeff was in the wrong place at the wrong time today too. The only saving grace was that there was big trouble for the points leader and a few others too.

The first time I even heard of Ari Vatanen was in 1988. That is when a friend of mine started to drive using left foot braking. Can tell you it's saved me a few times. Half the time I don't even know the people racing when I watch European Rally racing. There's Collin McRae, Petter Solberg, Carlos Sainz and even Walter Röhrl who have dominated for longer peroids of time. I just remember Ari the best.

Absolutely un-****ING-believable! Talk about bad luck. Championship #5 isn't happening this year. I'm so incredibly disappointed. Put a real damper on my month, damnit. It was looking so good too, just like at Talladega.
Thanks for the sympathy, LH. I know you have to understand. ![]() |

GO JEFF BURTON. Never noticed there was anything on here cept football
Been rooting for him since he came on the scene in 93-94. Its been a tough road, the last few years. With a win at Dover and leading the chase, I couldnt be happier ![]() |

You mean like the last 5 or so? Jeff Burton has been almost non-existent til this year.
He's moved up in my book because he doesn't seem to be such a whiner like he used to be. When he was in the hunt for a championship years ago, he would whine and cry about everything.Obviously, Jeff is out, so of course I'd go with Jimmy for my next choice. But if JB should happen to pull it out, that'd be ok too.....as long as it is that supreme piece of **** teammate of his, Harvick. |
