Colorado (Denver Area) lawyers
My wife and I are contemplating a move from the East Coast in the Fall of 07 and I was wondering if any Colorado area lawyers/paralegals/etc are willing to share insight into the Denver area legal market? I spent a month in Denver (actually, Golden) in trial earlier this year and fell in love with it. I really think it could be a good fit for us. Primarily we are wondering:
1) How tight is the legal market? Is it possible to break in with a few years experience and a willingness to take the CO bar? (She’ll have 1 year at a firm, 1 year federal district court clerkship and 1 year federal circuit court clerkship. I'll have 2.5 years litigation experience at a mid-sized firm).
2) What is the average pay scale vs. billable requirements at some of the larger firms for junior to mid-level associates?
3) Are firms willing to consider East Coast schools (she: Georgetown, me: American) or are we screwed?
Any info you are willing to share would be greatly appreciated. If you have info, but would prefer to email it, I would be grateful to hear from you at email@example.com. Not sure if anyone visits this forum, but thanks to anyone who reads this.
