Then we can assign players by counsel. Like...someone suggests an assignment, and if there are no objections we move on. |

Go up through the draft order 1-whatever and back down from whatever to 1. Say we have 12....the number 12 pick will pick two times one right after the other. Ok, we have 9....use 9 instead of 12. ![]() |

I am very proud to select Bobby Orr, D, Bruins. (yes, I know he spent a short time with the Blackhawks, but I prefer to pretend that never happened)
![]() The Bruins began scouting this marvel when he was 12 years old....and for good reason. He would go on to revolutionize the game with his free wheeling style. He was the first defenseman to join the rush and jump into the play, which was easy for him since he had the God given speed to always get back in position defensively. 8 time Norris Trophy winner 3 time Hart Trophy winner 2 time Art Ross Trophy winner 2 time Conn Smythe Trophy winner Winner of the Calder Trophy & Pearson Award Holds the NHL record for +/- for a season with an unreal +124 Holds the record for points (139) and assists (102) in a season by a defenseman He would have put every defenseman scoring mark far, far out of reach had it not been for knee injuries that cut his career short. |

Forgot to post Info on my first overall selection....
![]() Wayne Douglas Gretzky, OC (born January 26, 1961) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player who is currently part-owner and head coach of the Phoenix Coyotes. Born in Brantford, Ontario and nicknamed "The Great One," Total Hockey: The Official Encyclopedia of the NHL calls Gretzky "the greatest player of all time". [1] He is regarded as the best player of his era and has been called "the greatest hockey player ever" [2] by sportswriters, [3] [4] [5] players, [6] coaches, and fans. Along with his many awards and achievements, he is the only player to ever have his playing number, 99, officially retired across the entire National Hockey League. Identified as a hockey prodigy at a very young age, Gretzky regularly played at a level far above his peers. He became a full professional at the age of 17 in the World Hockey Association, leading to a long career in the NHL. He set 40 regular-season records, 15 playoff records, 6 All-Star records, won four Stanley Cups with the Edmonton Oilers, and won 9 MVP awards and 10 scoring titles. He is the only player ever to total over 200 points in a season (a feat that he accomplished four times in his career). In addition, he tallied over 100 points a season for 15 NHL seasons, 13 of them consecutively. |

I select Mario Lemieux, C, Pittsburgh Penguins with my first pick. Whether he was coming back from cancer, a bad back or playing in an era of terrible clutch and grab hockey, Super Mario put up tons of points and scored some beautiful goals. ![]() |
