Default Iran claims to have finally enriched uranium

Most people around the world believe this to be a bad thing: A nuclear weapon in the hands of a nation run by a man who claims it is his holy duty to wipe Israel from the face of the earth? Surely, this is not just bad, but really, really bad. But if one looks below the surface they will see that a nuclear armed Iran is mostly good.

First, the Euros have been dicking around with Iran for over three years on this issue; standing their ground one minute, caving into the Iranians the next. And Iran true to psychotic nation form has agreed to terms, made a big show of it, and then changed their mind a week later. This brought the EU back to the table time and time again where the pattern of standing their ground and then hitting their knees ensued.

Meanwhile, in the background was us, the U.S. We were the heavy, the scary Mafia guy holding the baseball bat in his right hand while softly slapping his left palm with the fat part of the bat. We were the muscle that backed up Europe's positions.

But now thanks to a war based on completely false pretenses, we no longer have the national will to to go to war with the nation we should have gone to war with in the first place. Militarily, we'd knock their ***** in the dirt in about the same amount of time it takes Dick Cheney to shoot a friend in the dish. Americans though, wouldn't stand for it. Iraq is already a fetid burning sack of dog **** that we stepped in so why would we want to invade yet another nation, this time on behalf of Europe and Israel?

Let the Euros carry the stick on this one. Talk all the **** you want about the French; the fact of the matter is that they have some really outstanding weapons platforms in the Rafael fighter and LeClerc tank. They also have three carrier fleets with which to project their power. Same with the Germans. Rather than Abrahms tanks, let's watch German Leopard II's roll through the streets of Teheran.

Think about this: An Iranian nuke poses no threat to us. They don't have the capability to hit America from their own soil. But it does pose a threat to Israel and Europe. So let them handle it. We can support the Euros with intelligence and whatnot, but not a single American soldier should have to put his boots on Iranian soil.

Or Europe could do nothing at all. Which is likely.

Then there's the Israeli issue. A little more sticky but still very do-able. Say Iran somehow drops a nuke or two on Israel. It'd be awful, yes. However Iran, Syria, and possibly parts of Saudi Arabia would simply cease to exist. The Jews, tired of being massacred would probably take the opportunity to once and for all settle things. I think that's what the ME needs anyway. They haven't had their cities destroyed and their populations decimated the way Europe and Japan did in WWII. They shriek and holler about bringing death to the infidel but they have no true idea of what death & destruction is like in the Big Leagues. So let 'em find out.

And finally; America. What if Iran did detonate a nuke anywhere in the U.S.? Our policy is not to respond in kind to an attack of such a nature but to respond massively. Islamic radicalism would go up in several dozen mushroom clouds that would find root in just about every nation in the ME. Maybe even Pakistan too.

So let Iran have a nuke. They may play hell with the thing, but not for long.

Yes, I do know how sick all this sounds, but this is as real as it gets. It would be nice to think that everything will turn out soft and fluffy at the end of the day, but it hardly ever does. It would be just lovely if peace reigned, but it doesn't.
