Default orton for haynesworth?

would you do it? burger bill said something about it on ESPN...

The rumor mill in Denver is already spinning a Kyle Orton-Albert Haynesworth trade. Washington needs a quarterback and Denver needs defensive tackle. Makes senses, would Denver want to pay Haynesworth?

Such a headcase...would maybe consider it if Washington took on a ton of the money.

No. I wouldn't want Haynesworth on this team. I'd rather trade for a player that isn't a total headcase and cancer, or just trade for 2012 draft picks

i think they have already paid a large chunk of that guaranteed money.

also with only 48 million of the contract guaranteed. and the way it breaks down he would hit that 48 million dollar mark by the end of 2012.

the 7 year 100 million number makes it seem enormous, but after 4 years the team can cut ties with him and move on with no further money owed.

and in 2009 anjd 2010 the Redskins have already thrown 35.6 million at him meaning for 2011 and 2012 we would only need to invest about 13 million on what has been seen as one of the most elite DTs in the league.

cap number for 2011 is 5.4 million and for 2012 is 7.2 million. which after 2012 season would bring his total money paid on the contract to 48.2 million meaning, his guaranteed money is paid and we could either release him or rework a new deal.

essentially the contract is a 4 years and 48 million contract, so it would not be a terrible move money wise and need wise for Denver. especially if we can get him for Orton straight up

Hanesworth would play nice in a 4-3 with coaches like Fox and Allen .. particularly after his last stop.

For sure he would put out his best effort to rehab his image too. Immediate solution to the 'DT' issue. Bring back Bannen and maybe Jamal and Thomas and along with Vickerson then suddenly the DLs a strenght of the team!

Who knows. He may want to play for Denver, and therefore be a happier person...
Heck, just getting rid of Orton is a plus...

You're the most transparent mother****er on here.....we get it, you're still queer for Jay's gear. But he's engaged now dude...you're gonna have to move on.

So you're more secure with Quinn backing up Tebow? Orton for all his faults has been a pretty good player for us who has shown he can play at a high level.

Sure he can't make **** happen like Tebow might be able to....so are you saying Quinn can? Orton probably won't accept a back-up role, but I'd rather have him than Quinn who hasn't played well anywhere or anytime to date.

Considering they couldn't even get a pick in the first 3 rounds for Hayneworth and I believe the Broncos could have gotten at least a 3rd & 4th for Orton we would have to a pick or two in return as well. It would be a risk but I would do it, the upside would be worth it. I really don't see Shanahan liking Kyle Orton however

I'd rather keep Orton and make him a DT than take Haynesworth. Haynesworth is poison riddled cancer with Super AIDS. I hate Haynesworth.

nevertheless we could probably swing a cash deal for Mebane and still keep Kyle for a later trade.

Adam Schefter was going to say John Beck is going to start next year for the Redskins.

John Beck...

Awesome.
John Beck? And Shanahan wouldn't want Orton? Has he gone that far off the deep end? Or is this another attempt to prove he can "mold a QB"?

Mebane hasn't got the 6 years for UFA status as things stand. Unless a CBA is agreed with those regulations Mebane will be going nowhere this offseason, same for Coefield, Branch or anyone else who doesn't have the 6 years. Cullen Jenkins would be about it.

haynesworth was the best DT in football before going to washington....

he is a head case but he was told to his face before signing that the skins would not go 3-4 and then after signing they did just that and had him play out of position...

i believe when motivated he's a beast....

if the skins want orton, which i doubt they do, i make the trade...

I was thinking about this earlier and there is no way in hell Mike Shanahan would want Kyle Orton to be his starting QB.

Why wouldn't he? Afterall when Lovie opened up the competition for QB position in Chicago, Orton beat out the guy Mike is annointing as his starter (Grossman)

When Rex Grossman is your starting QB, then you don't really have a starting QB......

Um, no. Orton is almost the exact opposite of what Shanny looks for in a QB and no chance Bowlen/Elway shell out that much for Haynesworth or Fox lets a headache like him into the locker room.

Doubt it would happen for many reasons, but a talent like Haynesworth would be pretty damn awesome for our defense. Imagine Doom, Miller, Haynesworth and Ayers crashing down Rivers' front door on 3rd downs. That would bring many laughs and cheers on Sundays.

I don't think Orton is automatic trade bait right now. I think the coaches are looking forward to the camp competition between Orton and Tebow. If Orton wins because Tebow isn't quite ready yet, fine. We have Orton for one more year and Tebow continues to learn, and at the end of next season there will be no lockout and we can work Orton into a trade involving the draft next year. He's still young enough to be considered in his prime so I don't think we lose any value there.
