Raiders cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha reported to training camp Wednesday and signed his $9.8 million franchise tag, reports NFL Network's Adam Schefter.

Have to say, that given the huge amounts of money that they have dished out this offseason, I'm suprised that they couldn't get something done.

Of all of the player they gave contracts to this off season, he really is the best of a bad lot.

More ineptitude from the raiders.

I'm going to love seeing what happens to him next year. It seems to me that he either is franchised again at 20% more than this years contract which would put him close to $12 million, or he hits the open market and leaves town. With how much it is costing them to franchise him this would obviously be the last year they would probably do so.
