Default Yet another Bronco fan coming to the fold.

Well I thought I was going to get to wait to start this thread until I got home, however, medical drs proved me wrong. My wife is going to be induced on Tuesday and I still have 2 weeks before my leave. We had actually been planning this for quite a while, the due date was the 29th, but when she went in for her last ultrasound the baby was gestimated at 8lbs 3oz...sooo...inducing a little early. I am disappointed, a little nervous, but thankful for situations that have happened here in Iraq so that I will be off of mission until the birth at least.

The policy on emergency leave has changed, I believe it was 2 or 3 years ago. I can only speak for the army, but emergency leave is not allowed for births, even that of a first child. Which is fine i can deal. I had planned leave around the original delivery date, which I got lucky with as that goes. The only way I would get to come home was if there was an anticipated complication.

Good luck!

I was an Army Brat, apparently when I was ready to pop they grabbed my Mom, wheeled her into Delivery did a C-Section (with out her getting a choice of vag or C) pulled me out. They told my dad the next day, he saw me for a couple of minutes and had to go to his post. At least he was in US and didn't get called up for Nam.

Best of luck to you and yours, I think things have gotten better.

Yea at this point I wish I had been out on mission at this point in time. I haven't slept in 2 days. She was admitted at 5pm yesterday and they started inducing then. No real progress today, and I've been sitting around doing nothing hoping for some sort of news, but the whole helpless feeling is such a downer. I don't know what to do, I can't sleep, I don't want food, I just don't know what to do with myself. And now they have stopped for the night and she is resting. I tried laying down to sleep and I can't. I'm just glad my roommate is gone.

filming ok but not down there! Accidentally saw that before birth and wasnt for my play area to look like that! Congrats and hopefully you will have no worries as you are in Iraq, you and the baby. This will be a great homecoming. Just make sure the kid has his broncos gear on for that first day. I know in Green Bay the kids have their packers gear on after birth so I dont know if that is the case in Denver. Good LUCK!

Babies come at their own sweet time. I'm sorry you are going through this. I can just feel your feelings of helplessness. It will work out, I'm hoping for good news soon for you.
