The Rock was a bad guy for a time, but I never got the feeling that he was very effective as a bad guy. People wanted to cheer him. It's the same with Stone Cold. A great "bad guy" makes people want to boo them out of the arena. It's hard to put together a list such as this because so many wrestlers switched from being faces to being heels in their career. However, I'll make an attempt at a list...

10) Shawn Michaels

9) Nikolai Volkoff

8) Jake "The Snake" Roberts

7) Rowdy Roddy Piper

6) The Iron Sheik

5) Ric Flair

4) Ted Dibiase

3) Mr. Perfect Curt Hennig

2) Terry Funk

1) Undertaker

Those are all good choices. I can't believe that HHH didn't immediately come to mind. I could probably put a Top 50 list together and still miss some great bad guys throughout the years...

I thought the same thing when HHH was mentioned. A lot of us have just picked guys that were in the WWF/E and WCW/NWA. I'm sure we can think of some from the likes of the AWA, USWA, and so on.

If we're expanding the list to include managers, you would be correct. I would also include Mr. Fuji, Paul Bearer, Classy Freddie Blassie, Oliver Humperdinck (who was a better bad guy than his "client" Bam Bam Bigelow), J.J. Dillon, Eric Bischoff, Paul E. Dangerously, Jim Cornette and Jimmy Hart. There were some great "bad guy" managers in wrestling history...

That's right, he did. I've never seen any tapes on Heenan as a wrestler to judge if he was a "good bad guy". I'll look around later on...

Some old vids of Heenan when he was known as Pretty Boy Bobby Heenan. I have some old tapes of him in the AWA and just like these vids he doesn't wrestle that much during the matches. As a manager he is great but as a wrestler not that good.

It's pretty amazing that Hulk Hogan is arguably the top good time of all time and in the late 90s became one of the top bad guys as well.

I'll just throw out some of my top bad guys in no particular order.
Roddy Piper

Macho Man

4 Horsemen

Mr Perfect

Ted DiBiase

Andre The Giant

Terry Funk

Any list that DOESN'T include HHH ain't even worth considering, in my opinion. He's the 2nd best heel in the biz for 30 years, second only to the Nature Boy. Rowdy Roddy Piper gets honorable mention as well. I also have to give it up for a "part-time" wrestler. Mr. McMahon gets some serious heel heat, and that's what it's all about.

Any list that does not include "Ravishing" Rick Rude in the top 3 is worthless.

"What I'd like to have right now is for all you fat, lazy, out of shape, Alabama sweat hogs to have a seat while I show the ladies what a real man is supposed to look like! Hit the music!"

Yeah..Forgot about the Ravishing one myself..That's a great pick I missed. He was a great wrestler AND cut some of the best mic work as well..the complete package.

Nice job, chadta. THAT'S the definition of a bad guy. Wrestlers who were "cool" as bad guys shouldn't be considered. That eliminates most of the main players in the NWO...
