It's so obvious.
The tapes, the HGH, Steelers and Pats superbowls are all starting to make more sense now. Shoot even maybe ours are maybe tainted in other ways we don't know. Kinda breaks your heart. The only reason Im posting this right now is because I can't believe there hasn't been any slight mention of this. The 4th down call was something I've never seen from Shanny and the QB sneak was weird along w/ the whole spiking of the ball on 3rd down by the the Jags. The coach of the Jags didn't look at all stressed over that play as if he maybe new something was up. Shanny's facial expression at the end of the game IMHO did not look genuinely disappointed or as passionate as in past times. I guess I may be reaching, but the whole league just feels like it's disconnecting from true fans and appealing more to casual people and corporate America which would make it more of an entertainment business than a sport and open up things like keeping performance enhancers and wide spread cheating on the hush hush. When a following or movement starts to lose it's diehard fans it is just a matter of time before it eventually gets phased out or collapses. Look at what is happening to the NBA right now, I think the NFL is on the same path. Last edited by labronx; 09-23-2007 at 07:34 PM.. |

There would be alot of people involved to keep this "fixed" machine running. These people must really believe in the "fix" to not come forward with a leak of some form.

Wow... that is a pretty bold thing to say... I think the look on Shanny's face was confusion. The call by Del Rio was crazy... but it was not the first time Del Rio has done that kind of thing. I am really sad he out coached us... anyway, I think the NFL does have hard on for the Steelers and the Patriots, but that is because they are in great markets with HUGE fan bases. That makes them tons of money!! If the Giants were halfway decent, they would get the same treatment.

If the league IS fixed, we officially have no shot this week. We all know that the NFL loves them some Peyton Manning...

Dom, as I understood it, based on what my dad used to say,
the phrase is "Rich as a ****house rat" and "Crazy as a hoot owl with tin britches." |

And, when you think about it, a ****house rat probably would be kind of crazy. But he would also be poor, so yours would work, too. I'll have to think about the hoot owl with tin britches one. The only thing I can get from that is that a hoot owl wouldn't want his tin britches rattling every time he moved in the dead of the night. I have always been interested in the origins of such sayings. When used in just the right context, they leave people grinning like a possum eating **** out of a light socket. ![]() |
