“This is the way we have to play every night. We have to play with hard work. This is the best league in the world, and if you don't work hard you're not going to get the wins. Lately we've been working hard and not getting the bounces - but tonight we did. We have so many shots that didn't go in the last couple games, it was nice to bury one and give us the lead.” – Brent Sopel

“We know we can battle these good teams. What we have to do is do it again. We know we have a good team.” – Alexander Frolov

“Sometimes it has to get a little worse before it gets better. We did a lot of things right in the last two games…. Today it paid off. Today we got bounces from hard work. It's not like we did something different or better.” – Mattias Norstrom

“We talked about them being a better team than their record indicated. They came out and had a great first period and we didn't start playing until the second period. But by then they had built a significant lead. The penalties were a reflection of us not being ready to play.” – Brendan Shanahan

“I was challenging (Alexander Frolov) to pay attention to detail and stick to things. Fro is a pretty deep thinker, and he had mentioned before that he had read 'War and Peace' twice. What better example can you have of stick-to-itiveness and attention to detail and not quitting than reading that book? I said if Fro showed more determination on the puck, I'd read it. I'm on Page 250 and I'm wondering if I can buy my way out of this.” – Dean Lombardi

The Kings sent forward Patrick O'Sullivan to Manchester

Rob Blake will play his 1,000th regular-season game tonight

The Kings are 8-3 in their last 11 Sat. games

The Coyotes are 1-10 in their last 11 Sat. games

Goaltender Jason LaBarbera stopped 21 shots in 65 minutes and denied three shooters in the shootout to lift the Manchester Monarchs to a 2-1 shootout victory over the Lowell Devils

“There was no fault in our effort, but I questioned some of our decisions we made in the offensive zone.” – Coach Marc Crawford

“I saw an old interview when Blakey was a rookie and he had a mullet. What was up with that?” – Michael Cammalleri

“The feeling is we have guys in goal who give us a chance to win in every game we go into. That is an advantage for us. It's good to see Matty get off to the start he has had this season. Dan has not had the results that maybe he deserved some nights, but that can change. We wanted Cloot to work through the criticism he was getting from our fans and in public. Fighting through that is a positive sign.” - Coach Marc Crawford

“It's coming. I've had a couple good games and hopefully I'll be able to keep it rolling.” – Dan Cloutier

“I don't want to give that away in advance. There's a little advantage in that. I think it's still a big deal in how teams prepare. One's a left-handed stick, one's right-handed.” - Coach Marc Crawford, on why he won’t release the name of the starting goaltender before gametime.

Several things I picked up on, one the Kings have scouts in Canada scouting the Canadiens and Senators. Rumors are that the Kings are talking with the Senators for a possible Brian Lee for Craig Conroy swap. GM meetings are tommorow and I suspect talks will continue there. Something will get done soon.

Looking at the schedule, I doubt it. They do not play when I come home for Thanksgiving Break or after Im done this semester. Might see them play the Flames on the 25th this month.

LOS ANGELES TIMES: Chris Foster reports the past two weeks have worn on Kings centre Craig Conroy, forced to wade through speculation as to where he might be dealt. GM Dean Lombardi has declined to comment but Foster cites sources claiming Conroy is being shopped, with one source suggesting Lombardi might listen to offers for everyone but rookie star Anze Kopitar. "The Kings probably would only accept a package that included a young player in return for Conroy", writes Foster.

Spector's Note: Lombardi's silence speaks volumes.

I think he is going to the Flames or Senators.

***Rumors***

Quote:
Edmonton is fairly disappointed with MA Bergeron and he is on the block. They are running low with patience on Robbie Schremp as well. Apparently Edmonton has called LA, who is looking to make a deal about a Visnovsky for Bergeron and Schremp deal. This would be a good deal for both teams, but Visnovsky is not on the top of the trade list for LA. Getting rid of Conroy is
the priority but won't happen until Alyn McCauley gets back.

Boston is still looking for goaltending help and the name of Vesa Toskala has come up but the Sharks want to give up Nabakov. There is still some sanity to a Murray for Nabakov deal but it won't happen right away.

Also, straight from Tampa Bay, what has been heard from my source is that Vinny Lecavalier is NOT getting dealt. The deal that is on the table is Alex Tanguay and Tim Ramholt for Martin St. Louis and a pick. Calgary is starting to pick things up but Tangs has not lived up to the hype yet. Iginla is still looking for help and Calgary has a defenseman that they can move...here comes the Craig Conroy rumors again...
http://hutchnikshockeytalk.blogspot.com/
Lowe looking to bring in an offensive Defenseman to Edmonton?
Quote:
Here's a list of offensive defencemen Lowe might be looking at in a trade: Tampa Bay's Dan Boyle, Florida's Mike Van Ryn, Lubomir Visnovsky in L.A., Boston's Paul Mara and Ottawa's Chris Phillips, who is an unrestricted free agent in July. What they need is a puck-distributor like a Matt Carle in San Jose or a John-Michael Liles in Colorado.

Time to plug your nose and admit that the Ducks are at least the hottest team in the West.

Default Robitaille lands office job with Kings

http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=184248&hubname=nhl

LOS ANGELES (CP) - Former star left-wing Luc Robitaille has been given a job in the Los Angeles Kings' front office, the club announced Wednesday.

Robitaille, hired as the Kings' alternate governor, will focus primarily on the Kings business operations and community relations.

"The game of hockey has been extremely good to me and my family, and I have always considered the Kings to be my second family," Robitaille said in a statement. "Even though I'm not on the ice anymore, my goal remains the same - to bring the cup to Los Angeles."

Robitaille is the highest scoring left-wing in NHL history with 668 career goals and 1,394 points. He played 14 of his 19 seasons with the Kings (1986-87 to 1993-94, 1997-98 to 2000-01 and 2003-04 to 2005-06). He also played for Pittsburgh, the New York Rangers and Detroit.

The Kings will retire Robitaille's No. 20 jersey in January 20.

Luc is also going to help AEG try and bring a hockey team to Kansas City since AEG built an arena in KC.

I hope he takes over for Tim Leiweke who is the Kings President right now sometime down the road. I can't stand Tim Leiweke who is an idiot in my book. The only reason they made changes with the coach and General Manager in the offseason is because of the team right down the freeway.(Ducks) It will be an embarrasment if the Ducks win the cup before LA did.
