This past week in Vegas, I almost bet the Ravens to win the SuperBowl @ 30-1. Seriously, had I done it, this season would have sucked so bad wanting them to win in the back of my mind every week.
But damn, if McNair stays healthy they could be dangerous. And 30-1, yikes. I almost bet the Broncos at 10-1, but wasn't really confident in the bet so I just stuck to betting on the NBA Finals. |

What it came down to though, was that I wasn't sure how you do bets in advance, if I'd have to come back to collect, etc, so I just said forget the whole thing. |

You didnt commit heresy, you almost jinx our entire season. Claiming to be Super Bowl champions before it actually happens is bad Karma. Just ask TJ, he did it too us last year.

I like Jake, and don't want to turn this into a Jake thread, but I don't know how confident I am in him to take us all the way. And with McNair running the show in B-More, they could be scary. |

Then game 4, I figure the Mavs would bounce back so I bet them at +1, and Dirk plays like Kenyon Martin and they get blown out. It was fun though, I need to be in Vegas during an NFL Sunday. |

Did the waitress bringing you drinks at the sportsbook bring you a hankie or did you just use the napkin?

future bets are for suckers. If you really think Ravens are going to win it all. Just bet them everygame they play up until the superbowl and you would win more money. That's right a 5 dollar bet on each game would end up winning you more money then a 100 dollars bet at 30-1. All real gamblers know that futures are a waste of time.

Future bets on the Superbowl are no more sucker bets than anything else. The suckers are the people I read about on the Mane and who walk into a Vegas sports book and think 10/1 Denver is a fair price! In general the prices I see quoted on here mean you guys are getting stiffed. If you shop around for the best price you can get the juice down to less than 5%. The typical juice on an NFL game is 10%, so seems pretty fair to me! Even if you don't pick the Superbowl winner you can make money too. I managed to get Denver at 50/1 just before last season. Going into the final four they were favourites so I managed to lay off a decent chunk for a nice profit. |

Personally, I think McNair has seen his better days and I'm not really that worried about him.

Normally if you bet with your heart instead of your head you end up broke.

You are absolved my son. Go and sin no more. I bet you feel much better now that your soul no longer bears that sin.
Unfortunately, I do have to agree with Eddie Mac - if you bet your heart you are gonna be broke - which is why I never bet on the Broncos. While its so cool when they win it is so crushing when they lose. |
